of Conway, AR

July 6, 1953 - February 6, 2014

Jackie Kent Dollar, 60, of Conway was received into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 6, 2014. He was born on July 6, 1953 to D.N. and Lorene Dollar in Russellville, AR. Jack was a member of the Masons Lodge earlier in his life, a member of Grace United Methodist Church, an avid outdoors man, and enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the sunrise each day. He worked for Dillard's in Arkansas for over eighteen years before transferring to Virginia with Phillip Morris until 2007 when he returned to Arkansas to continue work with IBM and lastly with Acxiom in Conway.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 39 years; Linda Dollar, one son; Patrick Dollar, his mother; Lorene Dollar, siblings; Patricia Reed (Doyle) and Dennis Wayne (Mary). He is preceded in death by his father D.N. Dollar, and his grandparents; Lonald S. and Winnie Shelfield Dollar.

A Funeral Service will be held in celebration of his life on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 3pm at the Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm on Sunday. Cremation Arrangements are scheduled to follow the service.

The family would like to thank Stan Henninger and Mike Kinder of Acxiom for the accommodations and compassion they showed Jack and all of the Dollar Family during his yearlong battle with cancer.

Our thoughts and prayers for your loss. Jack and I spent lots of time together in one data center or another and he was always ready to be a friend, and lend a hand regardless of the need. Godspeed Jack, you will be missed by a great many.

When Altria moved me to Richmond Jack made me feel very welcome. He took me out for my first Southern BBQ lunch and the garage where he had his Blinker Fluid Adjusted and I could trust to do my state inspections. I'll miss Jack's wry smile.

I had the pleasure of working with Jack since '97 at Philip Morris. I always had the impression that he did not like me that much only to find out that it was Jack's "personality". It took a long time for him to open up a little or for me to understand his personality, I'm not sure which one it is, but we got a long fine after that.

Jack was a nice guy and I enjoyed working with him. Rest in peace, my friend.

Dear Linda and Patrick,

I worked with Jack for many years at Philip Morris. We crossed paths when things were not going so well on one of our IT projects. I could always count on him to get me out of a jam!

Jack was very skilled and a team player all the way. May God hold you both in the palm of His hands at this very tough time.

Jack was always a faithful and diligent employee. Not only that while a man of few words, he always had a smile on his face and was always very amicable. And he was a hard worker. I remember Jack well and am sorry to see his life cut short as he surely deserved a few more years.

My best sincere wishes to Jack's family and son. He will be remembered by many.

Sincerely,
James Hill

Worked with Jack on several projects at Philip Morris. He was truly one of the good guys. Always helpful, pleasant and fun to be with. He and I liked to share jokes, he loved a good joke.
Hopefully someday he and I will meet again and share jokes, I have lots of new ones to tell him.
My sympathies and prayers go out to Jack's family and friends.

I am so sorry for your loss. "Buck" was always a character and he enjoyed being one, whether he was at work, at Dillard's, or at the bowling alley, he always made it a point to make sure people around him laughed. I will always have fond memories of him. My thought and prayers go out to Pat and the rest of the Dollar family.

I am forever grateful that I had the opportunity to work with Buck while at Dillards. He was a kind, patient, smart, thoughtful, trustworthy, and hard working mentor and friend.

Because he took the time to share with me what he knew, I was able to carry on a portion of his work while I was at Dillards, allowing me to provide for my family.

I miss him greatly.

Dear Dollar Family,

I am so sorry for your loss of Jackie, my deepest sympathies. It is extremely difficult to cope with the pain of such a loss. It seems very unnatural to lose loved ones the way we do. Something that personally helps me cope is Psalm 34: 17, 18 and Isaiah 25:8. Knowing God is near to those broken at heart, he has a purpose in play to swallow up death forever, that he holds them in his memory and will resurrect our loved ones helps me greatly. Whenever things seem too unbearable to carry on I reflect on these verses and find great comfort, may they bring you comfort too. May you, also, in time find comfort in your husband and fathers memories, and strength in the companionship of the life you shared together!

With heartfelt condolences,

The Munro Family
