Phillip Lynn Cox, 59 of the Driggs Community passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 in Driggs. He was born on November 26, 1954 in Corona, California to his parents Phillip W. Cox and Jean Wright. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and served on the USS O'Callahan, a member of Clarks Chapel Church of God in Cox Valley and a former employee of Rheem Manufacturing in Fort Smith. He enjoyed hunting, collecting arrow heads and loved Civil War History.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Glenna Jean Cox and stepmother Roberta L. Cox.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Wright and husband Harold of Paris, Arkansas; father, Phillip W. Cox of Cox Valley; sisters, Karen Davis of Ratcliff, Arkansas, Wanda Danciu and husband Jim of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Rhonda Cox of Temple, Texas; brother Jimmy Cox of Magazine, Arkansas; niece, Kara Inklebarger and husband Kevin; nephews, Jeffery Lovelace and wife Michele and Mark Lovelace and wife Meighan; great nieces, Kadan Case and Marley Mendoza and great nephews, Richdan Case, Kylin Inklebarger, Mace Lovelace and Gage Dart.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Clarks Chapel Church of God in Cox Valley. Burial of cremated remains will follow in Clarks Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Reynolds Cancer Support House, 3324 South M Street, Fort Smith, AR 72903.
I am sadden by the lost of Lynn he was a good person, had a good heart. I to have lost my dad this month. This makes the sorrow that much deeper. My prayers go out to you, his family. May he now rest in peace.
