Oh the passing of an era. Such a part of my childhood. I would be so happy when Uncle John and Aunt Nila came to visit. Uncle John with his infectious joyous laugh I will never forget. Makes me smile to think of it. Well he called me fatty but I loved it because I was painfully skinney and he made me feel beautiful! I pray God will send the Great Comforter to Aunt Nila and the whole family. I love you Uncle John

All my life Uncle John and Aunt Nila has been part of my life, he has always been a reminder of my youth, when I was truly "skinney" not just his favorite nickname for me.ha He played a major part of my teenage life, Aunt Nila a distant part of his life, but in later years, Aunt Nila became more known to me and Uncle John was just Aunt Nila's "right hand man". I will truly miss Uncle John and pray Aunt Nila God will give her the strength she needs to make a new life for herself.
Love,
Skinney

I have 60 years of memories of Uncle John ~ some good....
and some a lot of fun and good laughs together, you and Aunt Nila were a wonderful team. It was obvious that you loved each other very much. I appreciate all the times you called to see how we were doing ~ and while I was in the hospital to encourage me. It is with heavy heart that I must say goodbye to such a iconic member of my Mothers family ~ life passes so quickly. I love the last line of the Eulogy on the Memoriam page,
Miss me, but let me go. Will surely miss you Uncle John
Love.. Your "favorite" niece :-) Anybody else want to chime in on that one? Remember Aunt Judy, the Favorite Aunt ? :-)
Love you.
