My mother, Charlotte Penn, and I are so sorry for your loss. Mr. Carter was influential to my Extension career. As an Extension Agent, he made the difference in the lives of many, many 4-H’ers, farmers and families.

A beautiful service yesterday for such a well-thought-of and loved man. We are all better people for having known John. But I do not grieve for him. If anyone ever deserved his reward in heaven, it is John. God bless all of his family and friends who will miss him terribly.

Through our mutual employer, UA Cooperative Extension Service, I had the pleasure of working with John on numerous occasions. He always impressed me as one of the best individuals I had ever met. In working also with his son, Stan, I truly believe that "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree".

My thoughts are with the family in their loss of John.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember so much about John and will miss him dearly. My siblings and I made a lot of wonderful memories with Betty and John as we were growing up. We did things like slide on our socks down the dark hallway, play on the stationary bike in the garage until we fell off from laughing so hard, spent hours climbing the big tree in the front yard, played with the parakeets and Betty would always make us homemade play dough. I remember the warnings about the furnace getting hot, that the swinging door will smash your fingers and not to bite each other. I spent time with John and Betty from just a few weeks old until I graduated high school and will always consider them family.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

It breaks my heart to know Judge has left this world but peace knowing he is happy in heaven with our good Lord God & Jesus! I was blessed enough to be his nurse on many occasions! When the Clinton tornadoes went through and he found out I was helping the displaced families, he handed me a $100! He was that kind of person! Kind & generous with the most awesome laugh! He was loved by all and I pray his family has peace knowing how very cherished he was!
