Phyliss Jean Northcutt, age 78, of Benton, passed away peacefully at Alcoa Pines in Benton on April 18, 2013. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 6, 1934 to the late Clarence and Ruby Okey. She was retired from the Little Rock School District and was of Baptist faith. After retirement she worked at Casey's BBQ in Little Rock. She loved working in her flowerbeds, catching a good bargain at yard sales and thrift stores, and entertaining friends and loved ones during the holidays. She especially loved her grandkids.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse Walter Northcutt and her sister Joanne West.
Survivors include one son, Johnny Whitehead and wife Dale of North Little Rock, three daughters, Sherry Stricklin and husband Bobby and Debbie Edwards, all of Benton, and Brenda Dissinger of Mulberry, Arkansas; grandchildren, Christy Hyer and husband Oliver, April Hall and husband Daren, Andy Stricklin, Chris Thurber and wife Alaina, Deana Edwards, Shawn Whitehead, Stacey Harris and husband Austin, Ashley Tucker; great-grandchildren, Cory Stricklin, Zachary Hyer, Kristen and Erica Hall, Preston, Wesley, and Parker Stricklin, Lance Thurber, Laura Lee Hutcheson and husband Cody, Wyatt and Allisa Thurber, And Maverick and Axel Tucker; two great-great-grandchildren; nephew, Jeff Heinley and wife, Pam, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047) with Bro. David Dyson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock.
Visitation will be from 6:00 8:00 P.M. Friday, April 19, 2013 at the funeral home.
So sorry for all the family. Phyliss was a friend and neighbor way back in 1965-66 when you all lived on
Shetland Drive. I'm so sorry to hear this.
Debbie, your mother was a wonderful lady and will be missed. We are so very sorry for your loss.
We had the priviledge of knowing Phyllis for a long time. She was a special lady..She attended our church with her daughter, Sherry and family. She will be truly missed by all who loved her,She is enjoying the beauties of Heaven today. We will miss you Sis. Phyllis
