He concluded his love for education by working for the State of Arkansas Department of Career Education as the Education and Instruction Coordinator in Apprenticeship Plumbing from 2007-present. In recent years Bill expressed his love for the musical arts by participating in the North Little Rock Community Band. I was proud to call you a friend. You will be missed.
Katrina, Eric, and the entire Stoecker Family, I offer you my deepest sympathy. I consider it an honor to have known Mr. Stoecker and to have had him as my band director. He was a very talented musician who demanded the very best from his students. Mr. Stoecker thank you for making my band years the very best. Rest In Peace. Your band student that you affectionately nicknamed "Nose," Theresa Smith.
Billy as he was called by the '65 graduating class of TA Futral Marianna, Arkansas. A very good friend. I have missed seeing him over the years. Someday Billy I will see you again carrying a football and a musical instrument of some kind. Rest in Peace Billy my friend. My best wishes to wife Mary and family.
R.I.P. Mr. Stoecker my Prayers are with your family and friends.
Working with Bill was always a surprise, you never knew what he would do or say next. I only got to know Bill in the last couple of years working with him in apprenticeship. It was fun sitting and talking about people we both knew in the school music world from my high school days. I remember how much the Malvern band was respected back then, it takes a good leader to direct students how to follow, and he was good at that. The apprenticeship community has lost a man that had compassion and that burning desire to make learning the plumbing career a proud and worthy experience.
I know that Bill is now directing the “BIG BAND” now. I bet he has time to make the fish tremble with fear as he nears the water with his rod in hand. Bill Thank you for being a mentor , a coworker and especially my friend. You will be missed.
Bill will be missed not only as a co-worker but as a dear friend of mine. From the first day on the job Bill treated me with so much kindness. I will always cherish his thoughts and advice and we had the best time each morning fixing all of the world's problems. Now you Lord have the blessing of having Bill Stoecker's presense in your house. Im missing him already !!!
I am so sorry about Bill's death. I enjoyed working with him at Malvern Public Schools. He and his family will always be a special part of the memories I have of that time of my life.
I'm so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers
Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
I am so sorry to learn of Bill's passing. To those of us in his class at T.A. Futrall in Marianna, The Class of '65, he'll always be "Billy." We remember him as a valuable member of both the band (clarinet section) and the football team. He had a ready smile for everyone. He will be missed.
A good man will b missed........glen rose high school lost a great man,our band program was never the same when he left....my thoughts and prayers are with the family
Please accept our most sincere condolences. I met Bill when he and I were learning the clarinet at Warren High School. Then he and John Webb bounced me around the ping pong (ensemble) room at Malvern High School when I was an intern. His drive, determination, caring for kids, and sense of humor were unique. We will miss him, but the Lord has already welcomed him in a perfect body.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr Stoecker was a great band director at Malvern High School. He was tough, made us work hard, and we were good! Band was the best part of high school for me! Y'all remember those band picnics where Coach would cook hundreds of chickens on his giant home built grill? Those were great times!
Bill was a friend and mentor to me in my early years as a band director. He was always encouraging the people around him.
Mr. Stoecker was a great band director and man. I learned so much from him. I remember when he had to drill an extra hole in my snare drum harness just so I could carry it without the drum hitting my knees. He also had a way with making percussion instruments out of household items. He taught me the true meaning of a "Percussionist". Thank you, sir. You will be missed. Glen Rose "Mighty" Beaver Band.
May God bless your family's.
We will miss you at our Duck Calling meetings.
Bobby & Janet Hollanger
To the Stoeckers:
So many memories of my life are wonderful and happy thanks to you two. A power couple and love between two people is very hard to come by. Your love for each other and us as your students was always so wonderful. Stack was a blessing to have known and learned so much from, there will never be another like him. Mrs. Mary please know how much we all loved him, and love you, and how much we loved you two! God calls his children home, and it's nice to know he is playing with (and probably directing) the beautiful band of angels.
Love, Erica Gibson
I am so blessed and honored to have had this wonderful man be an influence in my life. He was an amazing teacher who was very dedicated to every student who crossed his path. I will never forget the feeling of the first time I stepped onto the football field at halftime and heard his booming voice introduce us as "The Pride of Hot Spring County, The Mighty Beaver Marching Band". He believed in us and thus, we believed in ourselves.
Mary, Katrina, and Eric, my heart breaks for you. You are in my heart and prayers.
God bless,
Carla McCorkle
He was a wonderful man who loved our kids that were in the band like they were his own.
"Billy Herbert" you will be missed. Your family will be in our prayers. I know the reunion with Aunt Rubye and Uncle Herb has been great. We all look forward to the reunion we will have with all of you in heaven.
I am reminded of our youth and spending time in Abilene with my cousins the Stoeckers and all the fishing and stuff we got into.
Love you all and may GOD bless,
Billy
Mr. Stoecker was a great band director who made learning a true joy. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.
Mary, I was so sorry to hear of Bill's death. May God keep you in His protective arms and give you comfort and peace in the coming days. Lyn
Mr. Stoecker was the best band director, nicest guy, and an inspiration. Hearing him say, "Get on the bus," before we left for competition is something that I will never forget- just like his using a frog's hair for measurement.
His passing leaves a hole in this world, and in our hearts, but he is up there playing with the best of them.
To his family, I can never express what he meant to me in words, but know that he was dearly loved.
I am thinking about you during this time and my heart goes out to you.
Bill was a great example of the word gentleman and a fine teacher. He has inspired many young musicians throughout his career. His time with the NLR Community Band was much appreciated by those in the ensemble and he was always ready to do whatever was needed for the good of the group. I am sorry that I will be unable to attend Friday or Saturday, but Mary and the family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Sorry for your loss. I will truly miss Bill. He always remembered all holidays. I still have all the gifts and will always remember them. I loved bill and I truly believed he love all of us.
I will remember the family in my prayers.
My condolences to the Stoecker family, especially Mary, for the loss of such a great man. Bill will be remembered for his great teaching, personality, and faith, and will be missed by many. Looking forward to the great reunion in Heaven one day! May God grant you peace during this time.
My prayers go out to Mary and the family. Mr. Stocker was truly one of those "special" teachers who had a great impact on each and every one of his students. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, but his spirit lives on in the many lives he touched!
I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate life. The day will come when memories will make you smile. I pray for your strength.
May you find Peace and Comfort in your memories. God's Love be with you.

You will be missed by every one who knew you
We love you Uncle Willie. You were an inspiration to many and did so much in your life time! You served your purpose well and God was ready to call you home. May you rest in peace; and we will all see you again one day.
What can one say about a life so full? As the heading on this site reads, "With All Our Respect..." Bill was such a major influence in so many lives. Although he was only slightly less than twelve years older than me, he was very much like a father.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family. We, his extended family, all of the students whom his life touched are grieving with you, but not as those who have no hope. I believe Bill is where he belonged in the first place.
There is music in heaven. We know that...and probably some plumbing, too. So even though we are sad for a time, I am sure that Bill is happily occupied, until we see him again.
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the days ahead! May the Lord be with you as you face this most difficult task!
I had great respect for Bill. He was a friend and a mentor, and I learned a geat deal from him. Bill had a great understanding of people, and was a great communicator to young people. I am sorry to hear of his passing.
You know I love you sooo much. God took a wonderful man, but we will all meet again. You are in my prayers! Muah!
Mr. Stoecker was one of the best teachers I ever had, I learned a lot from him. I know he will be missed.

Praying for all of you on the loss of a Great Mentor and a wonderful man!! Love you!!!
Everyone dreams of leaving their world a better place than they found it, and Coach did exactly that. He orchestrated more than just a love of music. He taught us life lessons... Bettered our work ethic... Never allowed us to hide behind excuses or feel sorry for ourselves. And, he always knew when to show compassion. If not for coach, I would have never gone to college. He even found a way to get me a full scholarship. He changed the course of my life. "if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right." That was a mantra I stole from my memories of him. I'm so grateful to him and will always hold him close to my heart. My deepest sympathies to Mary, Katrina, and Eric.
I was so honored to be a member of Mr. Stoecker's band. I was a flute player in the Bicentennial Band of Arkansas from Malvern High School. That was one of the greatest accomplishments in my life. Without Mr. Stoecker's dedication and hard work we would have never had this honor. He was a great mentor and friend. I just got reconnected with him on facebook. I will miss you Mr. Stoecker. I know there will be beautiful music in heaven with your presence. I will be praying for all of the family at this difficult time. God bless you all.

Mr. Stoecker was one of the finest teachers I ever had. His passion for music was contagious, and it was obvious how much he loved his students. He wanted us to do our best, and would not be satisfied with less. I loved, revered and respected him. I am a better person for having known Mr. Stoecker. I hope the family is comforted to know that I am but one of many who feel this way about Mr. Stoecker.

So sorry for your loss, I know he will be missed by many.
Mr. Stoecker truly gave me a love for music. Even when I moved away from DeWitt, I still came back just to play in the band. He was a kind-hearted man, but also stern. I'll never forget the look on his face when I forgot my tuba for the regional concert contest. What a funny guy. Mrs. Mary, I'm sorry for your loss. I love the both of you and have never forgotten the impact you guys made on me. God bless.

Bill was one of the few people I've respected and admired my whole life... He was a great teacher, mentor and an outstanding human being. I sincerely felt honored to know him, and without him, this world will always feel like a part of it is missing.
I feel very bad that I can not be there to send him off...
I have so many fond memories of Bill. Not everyone gets to teach with their teacher, who was such a mentor for them. I feel blessed to have known him.
Lisa Sampson
To all of Bill's Family & Friends: I thought he was a fantastic Band Director--& I have great memories of being in the Malvern Band. I imagine he's leading the Band in Heaven. R.I.P. to a great teacher & mentor -- gone but never forgotten!
Thank you for being a great influence on countless young people. We owe you a debt that cannot be repaid. Save a spot in the Heavenly Band for me.
Outside of my dad, Bill had extreme impact on me and my music. He was more than my band director, he was my friend.
I was so blessed to have Bill Stoecker for my band director and friend! His love of music was contagious and we were all so very fortunate that he shared it with us! I think that we all knew that if we needed a teacher that cared about us...he was the "go to person". I am so grateful to have been one of Bill's "band kids". I was so thrilled when I got to play with him in a group! That was very special to me! I bet the music in heaven is even more beautiful now! You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
