Keith Eugene QuertermousI am a Veteran.

of Gassville, AR

January 12, 1960 - March 6, 2013

Mr. Keith Eugene Quertermous left this Earth on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 while at his family's residence in Gassville, Arkansas. Born on January 12, 1960 in East Praire, Missouri to Harry Franklin and Cledith Norma (Hise) Quertermous, he was 53 years old.

Keith grew up in West Plains, Missouri where he graduated high school and joined the Navy in 1978. After his Honorable Discharge from the Navy he married his high school sweetheart Karen Kay on February 16, 1979. Together they had three children: Shaun Ryan, Sheina Kay, and Samantha Jean. Keith worked in Flippin, Arkansas for 19 years as the Service Manager over the Tire & Lube Express department.

Mr. Quertermous was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also greatly loved and often participated in 1740-1780 period reinactments where he handmade his own period correct gear. He loved bowling with his son Shaun, and their friends on Tuesday nights. Keith was very proud of his first 200 game he received after nearly 20 years of the sport. And everybody knew not to bother him during his wrestling shows, especially WWE's Monday Night Raw.

Gene, as he sometimes went by, was a very family oriented man. He was a loving Son, Brother, Husband and Father. He loved spending time eating popcorn and laughing with his grandson, Alex. Once in a while you might even catch him break out into dance.

He was preceded in death by his infant sister in 1964, infant brother in 1969 and his brother Steven Dewayne in 2009, as well as his Grandparents.

Mr. Quertermous is survived by his wife Karen Quertermous of Gassville, his mother Cledith Hise and step father JT Hise of West Plains, his father Harry Quertermous of Illinois, his children Shaun Quertermous and his wife Crystal of Gassville, Sheina Quertermous and her husband Chad of Mountain Home, and Samantha Quertermous-Williams and her husband John of Gassville/California Naval Base, his grandson Steven Alexander Quertermous of Gassville, his brother Frank Wesley of Caruthersville, his two sisters Kimberlee of West Plains and Cheryl of Houston, his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. in the Roller Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, March 8, 2013 from Noon to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Interment will be at Kirby's Tucker Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

Keith was my son. He was brave all through this illness. He kept saying he had faith and believed God was with him. Keith said, " I don't know why God allowed me to get cancer, but I do know He has a purpose behind it." He was a very good son, and I was very proud of him. He loved his family, and especially, Alex, his grandson, and Alex loved him. I will miss you so much, my son.Only God knows how much. Goodbye 'til we meet again.

I had the priviledge to know and work with Keith in the Trailer Shop at Ranger Boats during the late 1980's. He was a great guy and a fun co-worker. My prayers are with all of his family during this sad time.

Keith was my Nephew, the step son of JT Hise.My older brother, and Son of Cledith whom I love & adore.
Keith became a very good friend to me through our sharing each others posts on FaceBook. We signed petitions and help to pass important events around. Keith found out I was sufferring depression and got me into games, Bible verses, and sent smiles & hugs daily, even when he was in the hospital. He shared his photo,s and it all helped me to make it through the loneliest days of my life.He was an insperation for me to fight my health problems, and to carry on. My daily prayers for Keith, brought me closer with God. He was such a special man,I have recieved his hugs & smiles everyday this week, he knew ahead of time, but still thought of others. I miss him dearly. He is an assett to God in Heaven.Thank You Keith, Aunt Janet

My sincerest sympathy goes out to the friends and family of Keith. It is such a difficult thing to deal with. As time goes by, you will begin to realize that as you think of his smiles, his love of his family, his laughter, the pain will have diminished a bit and you'll find yourself smiling again. I didn't know him personally but, having lost someone dear to me, I can empathize with the pain you have and are experiencing. What comfort such scriptures as John 5:28,29 brought me! You will read there about the promise Jesus gave of resurrecting our loved ones back to life. When he resurrected His friend Lazarus back to life ( John 11:38-44 ) He showed his ability and desire to fulfill that promise. Can you just imagine the joy Lazarus' sisters felt when they held him in their arms once again? This joy we too will feel in the very near future. Until that day comes, we have the promise that God will draw close to those whose hearts have been broken ( Psalms 34:18 ) I truly hope these few scriptures have helped lessen the pain you feel as they had mine.
