Billie Neely Martin

of Sherwood, AR

June 11, 1930 - March 5, 2013

Billie Wanda Martin, 82, of Sherwood passed away March 5, 2013. Billie was born June 11, 1930 in Williford, Arkansas, and was preceded in death by her husband Dick A. Martin and her parents William and Lottie Neely of Williford, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Neely, Hubert Neely, Don Neely, and Ray Neely, and sisters, Marvene Neely Wileman and Tina Neely Hirsch.
Billie is survived by a son, Richard Martin of Hot Springs Village and a daughter, Debbie Clements and husband, David of Sherwood; four grandsons; Ricky Martin, Ryan Martin, David Lee Clements and Mark Clements, and five great grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Opal Neely Forrester and Nina Neely Duncan and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who all loved her dearly.
Her greatest pleasure in the last 11 years was being with her great grandchildren. She played with them as if she was their peer, and made each child feel special when they were with her. She was their "Mawmaw Billie" and there were few rules and lots of what they loved to eat at her house.
Billie was a member of the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ for fifty years, where most recently she enjoyed the fellowship and traveling with the 49'ers and her widows group.
She and her husband, Dick, were the founders and owners of Northside Realty in North Little Rock.
The family will welcome friends at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ, located at 117 West Maryland Ave. in Sherwood, at 9:00 a.m. Friday, March 8th. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. with interment at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements made by Roller-Owens Funeral Home, (501-791-7400). Pallbearers will be David Lee Clements, Mark Clements, Ricky Martin, Ryan Martin, Winston Horton, and Ron Burcham.

Dear Debbie,David and family. I know your hearts are broken and as we talked the other day you can know your Mom is where she lived her entire life to be prepared to go. I will miss seeing her at church I so enjoyed having her in our home for L2 last year I picked her up and we had a great visit She made 2 pies one for L2 and one just for me! Ha! I did love her chocolate pie! I also was glad i got to help her with some of her redecorating She seemed to really like what I did for her. I sent her a card a few weeks ago saying I missed seeing her and felt bad i had not talked to her since her fall at Christmas time I should have called I hope she knew I loved her! We will keep you in our prayers for peace and comfort She is now with our KIng and Heavenly Father and she
will greet us one day when we join her there, Oh what a day that will be! Terry

My husband and I would like to express our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of your beloved Billie. We wanted to share with you comfort from God's Word found in John5:28,29. Here we are given the wonderful hope of the ressurection of our dear loved ones. The God of comfort also reassures us that he is near to those broken at heart and to those crushed in spirit he saves. ( Psalms 34:18) May you also draw comfort from rhe many loving memories you all made and shared together, cherish them in your hearts always, and her memory will live on in each and every one of you. Take care of yourselves and each other, during this very difficult time.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Biilie's death. I am told there is an old saying : Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
I know there was and is much love in your family. Many wonderful memories to cherish. Debbie, you and Richard and the rest of your family are in my thoughts, my heart and my prayers. God is loving, he will comfort you!
