Donald Gray McMillan, 86, of Benton, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013. He was born January 18, 1927, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Eugene McMillan and Maye Morehead McMillan. He was preceded in death by his sister Marguerite McMillan and by his brothers William McMillan and Ray McMillan.
He was a 1945 graduate of Pine Bluff High School, attended Louisiana Tech University and was a 1951 graduate of the University of Arkansas with a BA in Journalism. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served in the Unites States Army twice, first as a Private during World War II, and again as a Second Lieutenant in Korea and Japan during the Korean conflict. He worked for Arkansas Power and Light Company, the University of Arkansas Argricultural Extension Center, and Democrat Printing and Lithograph Company.
Don was an avid photographer, golfer and computing hobbyist. He was a fan of classical music, the Arkansas Razorbacks football team, and he loved to work in his yard. Don was a kind and loving husband, father, brother and son.
He is survived by his wife Joretta Deal McMillan of Benton, and two sons, Richard McMillan and Roger McMillan, of New York, and a niece and nephew.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at 1:30 P.M. at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton, AR (501-315-4047).
