Lorene Greenhaw

of Harrison, AR

May 11, 1930 - December 31, 2012

Lorene (Driver) Greenhaw, age 82, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday evening, December 31st, at North Arkansas Regional Medical
Center, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born May 11, 1930 in Harrison, to Howard and Opha (Brown) Driver.

Lorene married Darrell Greenhaw in 1949 on New Year's Eve, and was to celebrate their 63rd anniversary on the evening of her passing. She was a 1949 graduate of Harrison High School, and a graduate of the Floral College of Design in Chicago, Il.

Lorene was one of the first in high school to work as a DECA-VICA student, working at Lena Frances Flower Shop and continued after college to be a designer
there for many years. She also worked as office manager for Ozark Metal Products until she became office manager for her husband in their business,
Greenhaw Insurance Agency, Inc., where she continued working until their retirement in 1992.

Lorene was a former member of Pine Street Missionary Baptist Church where she served as secretary and pianist for many years. She is currently a member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church, and the Joy Sunday School Class. Lorene was a former member and served as National President of the Chi Sigma Sorority
for several years.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Darrell Greenhaw, of the home; and her two children along with their spouses, whom she thought of as her
own, Mike Greenhaw and wife Mary of Springdale and Leanna (Greenhaw) McCutchen and husband Terry Wayne of Harrison.

She has 4 grandchildren that were the pride and joy of her life, and often said that her favorite was the one she was with at that moment. They are Tara
(McCutchen) King and husband Chris of Harrison, Eric Greenhaw and wife Anna, Sara (McCutchen) Fast and husband BJ, and Neil Greenhaw and wife Lauren all from Rogers.

She also has two great-grandchildren she dearly loved and enjoyed, London Grace Greenhaw and Hudson Michael Greenhaw, both of Rogers; and was looking so forward to the upcoming arrival of two more great-granddaughters to be born in April and May of this year.

Lorene is also survived by one sister, Faye Jordan, of Harrison; several nieces and nephews; four sisters-in-law and their husbands Evon and Glen Davidson,
Joyce Hankins, Jean Powell and Carolyn Purdy and Darrell; one brother-in-law and his wife, Charles and Marge Greenhaw, all whom she loved dearly.

Visitation was Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service was Friday, January 4, 2013, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Her grandsons, Neil Greenhaw and Eric Greenhaw officiated, along with her granddaughter-in-law, Lauren Greenhaw, who assisted with the music.

Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers included her grandsons-in-law, BJ Fast and Chris King, and her nephews, Joe Jordan, Wade Jordan, Robert Dennis and Steve Purdy.

Honorary Pallbearers included Dr. Charles Klepper, Dr. Ali Abdelaal, Dr. Bill Mears, The Joy Sunday School Class and teacher, Bro. Glenn Crenshaw of Eagle
Heights Baptist Church, all the nurses in ICU at NARMC, and Mandy Howell of Inn Style Salon, whom she loved so much.

Dear Family,
We know this bittersweet time of losing one so close. You have our love and prayers for comfort and peace of heart and mind as you face the days ahead. May our Heavenly Father hold you real close.

Lorene was one of the most elegant ladies we've ever known and treasure the memories of our times together. She's the best knitter ever, and she will never be forgotten. She helped train my (Doris) parents in the floral business before they opened their flower shop in Siloam Springs, and we enjoyed talking about that. She was so special!!!

Bob and I both have bronchitis and are disappointed to not be able to attend the service this afternoon. Just know that we're there in Spirit and will continue to remember you in prayer often.

Love you,
Bob and Doris Pennington

Dear Darrel, Faye and family - I was saddened to read in today's paper about losing Lorene. I am angry with myself for not making the effort to get to Harrison to see everyone before this happened.
I have some good memories when you all were building your dream home and her decorating it. On one of my visits to stay in your new home she had the courage to introduce me to bridge (I think she needed a sub) at a very young age - 13, 14? According to her I did ok.
She was a strong, positive lady. I remember that about her after all these years.
Love to all of you - Essie

Leanna,
We are so sorry to learn of the passing of your dear mother. May the Lord be with you and comfort you in your time of sorrow and may you rejoice in knowing that she has entered her heavenly home where you will all be together again one day. I know that you have a huge bundle of wonderful memories that will be even more precious to you now and those memories will help lift you up in the days to come. We will keep you in our prayers. Love you girl.

The few times that I was blessed to be with Lorene, she always lit up the room and had the nack of making everyone feel like family. I am so sorry for your loss of a dear wife, loving mother and grandmother. I know she is resting peacefully now and will always be watching out for you. All my love and prayers, Brenda
