Wow.... I never would have made it through the first grade without you. I never would have thought you would go before me. The world is worse off with your passing.

Just wanted to say how sweet-hearted Jim always was. I knew him through my son Kenneth and was glad that they befriended each other. So saddened for his family and pray Gods comfort for each one of you.

Thank you for all the loving messages. My brother and I would always talk about us growing up. The fun times and and bad. It is all good and sweet. He would also talk about all the people he cared about...you. Thank you for making his life complete. We will miss him, but he knew the Lord as his saviour. He's in heaven right now looking and watching down on us. If you have called on the Lord to be your Lord and have accepted him(Romans 10: 9 and 10), as Jim did when he was a kid, you will one day be with him looking down on the rest of us. Thank you again for loving Jim, it meant the world to him. Jerome

I pray that God wrap his loving arms around each of you during this very difficult time. It was very interesting growing up with the guys ( Jim, Jerome, John, Carl, Sean, Dusty, & Kenneth) , there was never a dull moment. When I heard the news, I felt that a piece of my childhood had been stolen. In celebration of Jim's life, I offer my deepest sympathy, please know you are loved.

Angelia and I are so sorry for your loss. There is not a single memory of me growing up that does not include Jim. He was more than a friend, he was my brother. As adults, we remained friends and spent many weekends "jamming" playing our favorite music. Our geogograpy kept us close, but our love for the same music kept our souls bound. I know one day, we will be reunited and will be able to pick up where we left off. Until then brother, I will miss you and the times we had together. Love ya!

To all of Jims family , I'd like to send my prayers and love. I am so sorry for your loss. I've been in Canada for over 11 years now & i have lost touch w/ alot of friends from home. Fortunately for me , I had got back on facebook a few weeks ago and was able to reconnect w/ Jim . We had some good conversations about the old days .
I'm sure I can honestly speak for all of us kids from the neighbourhood , to say we were truely blessed. Our gang was all about the same age and we all felt as though we were family. Yes , as families go , we all went our own ways ,but never the less, we always remained family. I loved Jim like my own brother and I can say , growing up there were times when Jim was closer. We laughed and cried and fought ( eh Jerome ...hehehe ). We had good memories,
I`ll only name a couple.. one time when Betty was sleeping , all of us guys actually picked her car up and turned it around , just to see if she would notice ( Jim's idea ). Once we made a movie by stealing Dusty's dads bug and ran over Jim. Funny thing was , we had to do it a few times to get a good shot. I remeber spending the night at Shelia's house when Brianna was a baby and hearing Poison for the first time. hehehe the best . But not for Jim ,( I wont even get into the why ) is we were riding on the tail gate of Jeffs truck and pulling a skate board behind us w/ a stuffed animal attached , and Jim fell out and got hit by the stuffed animal/ skate board (maybe you had to be there ). Alls I can say is my childhood growing up is full of Jim Hicks. If we can look at our life as a puzzel on a table , Jim will be a missing piece now, but he will always have his spot.
Again to all of Jims family and friends I am sorry for your loss. Thanks John

So many memories & many years of friendship....it really takes me back & reminds me of the good times I had growing up with my click from "The Hills".... (I almost forgot about that nickname.) There were many but we used to joke about this one for specific reasons. LOL ;-) ..... You will be missed more than you know & I am so grateful we had the time we did as friends. I will cherish those memories for a lifetime and celebrate your life each time we have our summer "Birthday Bash" float trip. They will not be the same & will always remind us of the last time we all shared in this fun, "Remmel" was the worst for us all but will be the sweetest memory for us all...... as this is not a "goodbye" friend ... more like see you later R.I.P. "JD". We love you!
