Lila J. Holmes, 88, of Tiptonville, TN, entered through the gates of heaven, September 13, 2012 in her home at Tiptonville, Tennessee. She was born January 23, 1924 in Clinton, Arkansas. She devoted her life to the ones she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Monroe Holmes, her mother Alma Underwood Jennings; her father: Charles Fletcher Jennings; one daughter: Betty Haggard; one son: Jimmy Holmes; two brothers: Jack Jennings, June Jennings; two sisters: Wyn Brown and Eula Wyatt. She is survived by one son: Charles Monroe Holmes and one daughter: Glenda Yerbey; one brother James Jennings and one sister: Alice Kirkendall; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.

I know in my heart where you are. You were a wonderful woman and I am so proud to have had you as my mamaw. Life won't be the same without you but I know you are happy and healthy now. I miss your sweet comforting voice and your loving arms. I love you to the moon and back.. Fly high my sweet mamaw!!
