Hazel Curtis Hoppis, age 84, of Harrison, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Bristol Pointe Nursing and Rehab, in Harrison. She was born November 25, 1927, in Hasty, Arkansas, the daughter of Alvie and Mary (Braden) Hoppis. Along with her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by four brothers, Webber Hoppis, Argie Hoppis, Bobby Hoppis and Jesse Hoppis. Hazel was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was an elementary school teacher for forty four years.
Hazel is survived by her sister, Martha Reece, of Fresno, California; her brothers, Howard Hoppis of Harrison, Harvey Hoppis of Hasty, and Everett Hoppis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Visitation was held at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral service was Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Hasty Holiness Church, with Rev. Derwin Martin officiating.
Interment was in Sand Hill Cemetery.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
