Joe T. Treadway, 75, of Swartz Creek, Michigan, died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at a local hospital.
He was born on February 23, 1936 in Sulphur Rock, Arkansas and was the son of Claud Treadway and Ruby Tillman Treadway. He retired from General Motors after 31 years of service at the Flint, Michigan plant. After retiring from GM, he worked at the Flint Golf Club of Flint, Michigan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Swartz Creek, Michigan and the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Rock. He was also a member of the Eagles of Flint, Michigan.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Snell Treadway of Swartz Creek; two sons: John Treadway of Eagle River, Alaska and James Treadway of Gaines, Michigan; two daughters: Donna Pierce of Lavonia, Georgia and Deborah Smith of Gaines, Michigan; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Billy C. Treadway of Sulphur Rock; one sister, Evelyn Small of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, William Joe Treadway; two brothers: Boe Treadway and Alva Treadway; and two sisters: Dorothy Whaley and Emmajean Wiltrout.
There will be a visitation on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.
Funeral services in Swartz Creek, Michigan will be announced at a later date.
