Edna Pearl Greenwell Hook 87 passed peacefully with family at her side at the Hospice of Comforter October 20th, 2011 from complications of many years of anorexia. Born Jan 7th, 1924 in Wilson Arkansas to farmers James Roy & Julia Blanche Kelly, was the oldest of 5 children along with Jim, Mable, Billy & Bloss. At age 17 Edna left home at war time to attend nursing school in Memphis, which was her loved profession all her life.
Married 65 years to Lt Col Edward A. Hook USAF and traveled many parts of the world until Edward retired from military service 1966 in Maitland Florida to raise 2 sons Edward Jr. & Paul, additionally 5 Grand Children- Edward 3rd, Heather, Lauren, Hannah & Charlotte, and one great grandson Edward 4th.
Her nursing career flourished additionally 25 years with 10 yrs as an emergency room nurse at Winter Park Fl Hospital, then was recruited as one of the 5 original nurses to open the newly built Florida South Hospital emergency room in Altamonte Springs 15 more years. Edna helped many lives in their time of need.

Ed and Paul. We enjoyed seeing each of you and your families today. Sorry that it was on such a sad note. We have just been through the loss of our mom, so we know how you feel. Love to Uncle Ed and hope that he does well.
