Lucy ''Deek'' Wilbanks Carter, 92, of Manila entered into rest Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Born June 16, 1919 in Chalybeate, MS to the late Ajna and Sarah Wilbanks, she was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and a homemaker. She is survived by her four sons: Chucky Wilbanks of Ripley, MS, Michael Wilbanks of Bay, Tommy Carter of Etowah and K.C. Carter of Dyess; seven daughters: Nettie Wilbanks, Brenda Fine, Janet Wilbanks, Kathy May and Carolyn Wilson all of Etowah, Debbie Lancaster of Manila and Janie Wilbanks of Chalybeate, MS; twenty-six grandchildren; host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother: Waymon Wilbanks of Walnut, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Gene Carter; four sisters: Ethel Green, Magdalene Thornton, Ella Porterfield and Anner Green; four brothers: Captain Wilbanks, K.C. Wilbanks, William Wilbanks and Aaron Wilbanks; one daughter: Tammy Trammel.
Dearest Brenda(Nanny Fine) and Family, We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Even though we know that "Absent from the body is presence with the Lord", our hearts still break when we lose those we love.
