John Crnic

of Conway, AR

February 1, 1956 - June 26, 2011

John Crnic, Jr., 55, of Conway, passed away at his home, Sunday, June 26, 2011 after a five year battle with a brain tumor. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri to John Crnic, Sr. and Joan Theroff Crnic. John was a graduate of Platte City High School, received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla and his MBA from Murray State University. He worked for Kimberly-Clark, Memphis and Conway Mills for 20 years and was most recently employed by Polymer Group Incorporated in Little Rock. John was a member of First United Methodist Church in Conway.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Melanie Cole Crnic; their daughter, Amanda; his previously mentioned parents, of Platte City, MO; siblings Janice Crnic Miller (Mike) of Camden Point, MO, Guy Crnic of Houston, TX, Paul Crnic (Jacquelyn) of St. Louis, MO and Patty Crnic Homeyer (Rob) of New Haven, MO; nephews and nieces, Knut Brower, Scott Miller (Becca), Sara Miller, Adam Homeyer; and mother-in-law, Kathleen Cole of Olive Branch, MS.

John was a private pilot and enjoyed flying as well as all types of hunting, but the greatest delight of his life was his daughter, Amanda. He was known as a man of few words, but loved for his quick wit and dry sense of humor.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, at First United Methodist Church in Conway, with Rev. Charles Murry and Rev. Lynn Kilbourne officiating. The family requests that memorial donations be made to First United Methodist Church Youth Ministries, 1610 Prince Street, Conway, AR 72034.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home (501) 327-7727. Online guestbook www.rollerfuneralhomes.com

I was John's roommate when I worked as a summer engineer at KC, Memphis during 1987. Memphis was a new city to me and John was such a nice person and was always very helpful. He had words of wisdom when I needed them. Had lost touched with him for a long time and while trying to locate him, stumbled on this website. May God give strength to his family.

Melanie and Amanda, I am so sorry for the loss of John. I know you are both hearbroken right now, even though John has been sick for a long time. I will keep both of you plus your entire faimilies in my prayers as you go through these next few months. I know you kiew it was coming and probably thought you were prepared but you would never have been ready to give John up. I am not going to bother you at home because I know you probably have a house full. I will be at the funeral tomorrow, but may not get to see you them either. I will try. Bev

Melanie and Amanda, my family's prayers go out to you and your family for strength and peace during this time. John fought an amazing battle these last few years and I know he did it to spend more time with the two of you. I know he is looking down from Heaven and preparing a place for all of you to be together again some day. His strength and courage was astounding.

My parents always regarded John so highly during their years at Conway Mills with him. Then came the Red Cross Volunteering, Flying and genuine friendship between our families. He always took time to stop whatever he was doing to visit...such a genuinely good man! So happy that I was privileged to know him. I know he will be greatly missed. I am praying for you, Melanie and Amanda.
