Katie, all of us here at State Farm were so saddened to hear about the loss of Mrs. Bessie. She was a wonderful, sweet lady who was a blessing to all who knew her. What a WONDERFUL, FULL life she had! We mourne her passing but rejoice in the new life she has in Heaven with family & friends already gone on ahead of her. Your family is in our prayers.

It's time to celebrate a life lived long and well. Aunt Bessie gave a good example to all of us for being content and cheerful. When she was in her nineties, I asked her how long she had lived in Batesville and she said well over 60 years. How do you like it so far? I asked. "I think it will do fine for me," she said with a twinkle in her eye. Later, we rode in a car. When it stopped I went around to help her, but she was already out by the time I got to her side. I told her I could have helped with the door, and she said not to bother with something she could do for herself. She wasn't trying to prove a point, just living life the way she always did.

Mrs. Bessie was an inspiratiion to all of us at Harrison Street. To see her walking up the aisle to her seat always made us forget our little aches and pains and try to follow her example. Her infectious smile was always evident and freely given to everyone,. She will be missed.
