Onie Cleon Fikes Jr., 65 of Gosnell entered into rest Tuesday, April 12, 2011. He was born April 28, 1945 in Burdette, AR to Onie and Molli Fikes. He was an accountant with a private office for 25 years. He is survived by one son: Timmy Gene Fikes of Gosnell; one daughter Shalia Lynne Underwood of Half Moon; three sisters: Pat Taylor of Haleyville, AL, Lena Hendrix of Evening Shade. AR, and Onie Belle Jones of Hickory Ridge, AR; three brothers: Jerry Fikes of Wichita, KS, Larry Fikes and Charlie Fikes both of Blytheville and three grandchildren Alyssa Birster, Kylee Underwood, and Lori Jane Annalora. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Homer Hammerick and Bobbie Hammerick; four sisters: Dot Clendonon, Hazel Aycock, Bonnie Hammerick, and Nellie Fountain. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Roller-Swift Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 15, 2011 at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdett.

I met "JR" when my daughter worked for him several years ago. Since we were both in the same business, we would confer and bounce ideas off of each other. He was one of the smartest men I've known. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.

My Dad was a great man who was loved by everyone and he loved everyone in return he had a big heart. He was also a brilliant accountant he loved his work and all of his clients very much he always took great pride in his work. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He would really appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. Our family thanks you all.
