Geraldine Grantham, 88, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Crestpark Retirement Inn. Ms. Grantham was born November 28, 1921 in Marion, Mississippi to the Late H.C. and Ruth Carroll Jones. She was a retired cook for Phillips Community College.
Ms. Grantham enjoyed cooking for her family, sunflowers, watching the humming birds, embroidering, and crocheting. Her greatest joy was the love she shared with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, James Brown and his wife, Hazel of West Helena, Arkansas; one step-son, Butch Grantham and his wife, Thelma of West Helena; her twin sister, Gwendolyn King of West Helena; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Erma Nolan and Lois Moore; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Wayne Richardson; and a grandson, James H. Brown, Jr.
Services for Geraldine Grantham will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Roller-Citizens. The Reverend Rodger Hooker will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, James Richardson, David Richardson, Ivan Richardson, Jeremy Richardson, and Jerry Richardson.
