January 14, 1943 - June 16, 2008

William Raiford ''Billy'' Hughey, 65, of Oxford, Arkansas passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 in Salem, Arkansas. Mr. Hughey was born January 14, 1943 in Helena, Arkansas to the late Raiford Sharpe ''R.S.'' Hughey and the late Mable Claire Walker Hughey.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Knupper Hughey of Oxford; son, Billy Hughey, Jr. of Hickory Flat, Mississippi; several grandchildren; brothers, Gene Hughey of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Tony Hughey of St. Charles, Illinois and Raymond Hughey of Desha, Arkansas; sisters, Nell Orcutt of West Helena, Mary Anne Walker of Hammond, Indiana, Carolyn Forkum of Lafayette, Tennessee and Linda Pedigo of Roland, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hughey was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Connie Hanson; two brothers, John Hughey and James Edward Hughey.

Graveside services for Billy Hughey will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in West Helena. Reverend Dusty Rhodes will officiate. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-9 p.m. at Roller-Citizens.
