William ''Bill'' Kimbrough Pickett 78, of Cave City died Saturday, August 7, 2004 at his home.

He was born Sunday, March 14, 1926 in Imboden, Arkansas, the son of Henry Allen Pickett and Vesta Louise (Oliver) Pickett.

He was a retired mechanic. He was a member of the Church of Christ, recently affiliated with the Central Avenue Church of Christ. Previously he was a member of the Antioch Road Church of Christ were he served as song director and adult Sunday School teacher for thirty-one years and as elder for ten years.

He is survived by his wife, Irma Jeanne Wigginton Pickett of the home; one son, Dr. Joel Pickett of Huntsville, Alabama; two daughters, Suzan McConnell of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Faellen Hill of Batesville, Arkansas; two brothers, Joe Wayne Pickett of Montgomery, Texas. Roy Pickett of Heber Springs, Arkansas; three sisters, Montez Herbert of Imperial Beach, California, Mary O. Davis of Heber Springs, Arkansas, and Helen Smith of Heber Springs, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Tyler Bibb, Walker Bibb, Jamie Pickett, Hannah Pickett, Jackson Pickett, Stacy McCeland, Meghan McConnell and Ryan Hill; three great-grandchildren, Jacob McConnell, Noah West and Madison Bibb.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Joey Pickett

Pallbearers will be Don Allen Henley, Buddy Ray Henley, Curtis Goodrich, Jerry Davis, David Wigginton, and Lee Allen Wigginton. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Welch and Melvin Henley.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at Antioch Church of Christ with Royce Pendergrass officiating, assisted by Troy Henley and Don Lewis.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 Monday, August 9, 2004 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. (870) 793-4161

Burial will be in Young Cemetery.

Although I have not seen the family for many years, I was acquainted with Fay Pickett, Alice Wiggington, Debbie Miesner Wigginton, and David and Shirley Milligan Wigginton. I extend my condolences to the Pickett family.
