I received the Holy Ghost on January 12, 1986 in Longview, Texas at Calvary Christian Tabernacle. Rev. Mahaney preached a revival for months. He greatly effected my life. I will never forget him. I am very grieved he passed, but I know he went to his great reward for his love and labor for our Great God and Savior - Jesus Christ. I want to express a big thanks to Sister Mahaney for Brother Maheney by saying, " I miss him and one day I will get to see him again in the eternal home that awaits all of us who love and obey the Lord".

I met Brother Mahaney when he came to visit Christian Life Center in Gaithersburg, MD back in the 1980s. He was a no nonsense preacher with backbone, and a heart.

To this day his words are etched in my spirit. He will be missed.

God bless and comfort those he left here waiting to rejoice with him again one day...

To the family of Bro. Mahaney-- I was sorry to hear of your loss. Bro. Mahaney's ministry was the first pentecostal minister I was ever exposed to...and it made a difference. I listen to that sermon, "God wants a relationship, not a religion" and at the time, that is exactly what my soul needed. It has been almost fifteen years later, and I am serving in my local church. God bless you in your time of sorrow.

Sister Mahaney & Family, I just wanted to write and express my sorrow over the loss of Bro. Mahaney. He has made an impact upon my life and I will never forget his voice on the phone and the words he spoke into my life (When he wasn't feeding me one-liners). Whenever I did a banquet I would always use his jokes and impersonate him, he is a hit wherever I go. This Wed. the 16th I was invited to do some comedy at Gateway College in St. Louis. Before I began my routine, I dedicated it to Bro. Mahaney. He has been a blessing to my life and I want you to know we love you and are praying for you. God bless, Jacob Tapia

Bro. Mahaney impacted my life in so many ways, but perhaps the most influential was as a backslidden teenager listening to him preach in Stockton, CA. He prophesied that there were two young girls that were not where they should be and one of you will be in prison this time next year if you do not pray through. I was there with my friend who was also backslidden. I did go to the alter that night she did not and his prohesy came to pass a year later in her life. As far as I know she never came back to God. I am still serving the Lord and will always remember this service and his sermon as a turning point in my life!! Hallelujah !!!

I listened to it so much that I almost had it memorized. Every time I listened to that sermon it touched my heart, and I realized like he said in that sermon that the greatest power that God has in not to deliver someone from sin, but to keep them. Bro. From the 30 second altar calls when I was a teenager to his effective teaching at men's conferences in recent years, he has had a profound effect on every phase of my life. That having been said, we can find comfort in knowing that at this very moment, the Apostle Paul and a few of the Disciples are probably gathered around waiting for the punch line on one of his many humerous stories. To Sis. Mahaney, the Children and Grandchildren: Our hearts grieve with you at the loss of "Charlie". I shall forever remember our trips to Israel, sitting on the back of the tour bus eating Twinkies and drinking Diet Coke. He brought love and laughter wherever he was. He is Gone You can shed tears that he is gone, Or you can smile because he lived, You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him Or you can be full of the love that you shared, You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow because he was here yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on, You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on We Love You Charlie. We're going to smile and go on!!

About 25 years ago we were introduced to Br Mahaney. We kept looking on the platform for the evangelist. When introduced, he came through the back door of the church (On a harley!) He parked it there so no one would "leave early!" Years later we asked him if he remembered that event. He smiled at us then chuckled, then got the "serious look." You must have a mistaken identity. We all laughed, no one else could be mistaken for Br. Mahaney! What a blessing he was to our lives!

Like Abel of old, a man of faith has walked among us, offering a more excellent sacrifice ,and has obtained witness of what a righteous life can accomplish. Bro. Mahaney ,though you are no longer with us, the life you lived here on earth, will yet speak, and bring forth much fruit for the Master. The Lord designed you in a most unique manner for the ministry. Thanks for touching so many through your preaching and caring. Many prisoners across North America say "thanks" for bringing "The message" of deliverance of Jesus Christ and the old rugged cross. Thanks for the personal memories, riding on the hay rack wagon to church sevice at Louisville, Ky. Gen. conference, and conversing with you, autographing my Bible in Omaha, and talking about the upcoming trip to Jerusalem and Israel. Sis. Mahaney, a special thanks to you and your family for being such a great and vital part of his ministry. Until we meet Bro. Mahaney again soon ,in the New Jerusalem, may you find consolation and comfort in God's Word, and know that a host of people are praying for you, and share in your sorrow. Sis. Mahaney, I am from New Life Tabernacle, Pastor Charles Treadway in Beaumont, Texas. We have appreciated the ministry of Bro. Mahaney for many years. His passing is a great loss to the UPC and the world. Our prayers are for you and your family. God Bless You!

We send our deepest sympathy at the loss of our dear friend, your husband, and dad. Bro. Mahaney was always able to bring a smile to our faces. While many will remember the "one liners" I will remember the spiritual insight he had and his promotion of Love for one another. We will greatly miss him.

We'll never know how many lives Bro. Mahaney touched, but I know he touched mine. I'll mostly miss him calling Word Aflame and saying, "Hey Sis! Nita and I don't know how to reserve these plane tickets online. Would you do it for us....here's the flight information and my credit card #." I assumed Shelly was at work and not there to do it for him, he wanted reservations made right then, so I would take care of him. I'll miss being able to make my small contribution to the ministry of such a big man.

Sister Mahaney and family - Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. We will never forget the great revivals and services we had at Calvary Apostolic in Wichita when your family would come to visit! May God be with you in the coming days.
