Hugh Wayne Nixon
March 29, 1927 - July 18, 2004

 

Hugh Wayne Nixon, 77, of Odessa, Texas, formerly of Greenbrier, went to be with his Lord Sunday, July 18, 2004. He was born March 29, 1927 in Greenbrier, AR to the late John Osborn Nixon and Mary E. Tilley and preceded in death by his sister Carmen McCollum, brothers Pierce Nixon, Winford T. Nixon, Gene Nixon.

He was a member of Terrace Hills Baptist  Church in Odessa, TX  and a veteran of the U.S. ARMY.

Survivors include his wife Lottie  Crook Nixon; daughter, Pamela Cherry and husband Earl of Odessa, TX;  sons, Allen Nixon and wife Debi of  Lockburn, OH, John Nixon and wife Teresa of Odessa, TX; grandchildren, Cliffton and Christopher Cherry   of Odessa, TX; great grandson Devin Scott Cherry, of Odessa, TX ; step grandchildren and great  grandchildren of Ohio .

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M.  Friday, July 23, 2004 at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Greenbrier with Pastor Michael E. Martin and Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating, burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday.

Pallbearers will be John Nixon, Earl Cherry, Cliffton Cherry, Christopher Cherry, honorary pallbearers are Allen Nixon, J.B. Mills, Hoover Tilley, Jerry Garrett, David Nixon, Ed Troutman, Roy Defoor, Floyd Crook, Steve Crook.
