Necie Smith, 97 of Batesville, died
Being very strong willed and determined to make the most of her situation, she was able to overcome and prevail at almost everything she encountered.
She was a devote Christian of the Missionary Baptist Faith, who instilled her beliefs into her family and extended family.
She had worked at the
In her later years she enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas on television, listening to the scanner, and working in her yard.
She is survived by a Daughter, Henrietta Platt of Batesville, a Brother, Troy Smith of Needles, California, 2 Sisters, Euna Bell Stephens of Rock Island, Illinois, Eunice Billings of Tuckerman, Arkansas, a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Turnbull of Kansas City, Kansas, 3 Grandsons, Ricky Platt, Joey Turnbull, and Tony Turnbull, 8 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Henry Turnbull, second husband, John Loyd, third husband, Wilbur Smith; 1 son, Billy Turnbull, 2 Brothers, A.T. Smith, John Smith, and 3 sisters, Maggie Moody, Audrey Creswell, Easter Burgess.

Pallbearers will be Rickey Platt, Hunter Platt, Kipp Platt, Ray Knatchal, Joey Turnbull, and Tony Turnbull.

Henrietta, I'm so sorry to hear about Ms. Necie. I took care of her in the hospital in January. I'm so sorry for your and your familes loss. She was a very sweet lady and will be greatly missed by everyone, including the nurses at the hospital. We all got attached to her. My prayers are with you and your family. God Bless.
