Gary Lynn Haywood, 72, formerly of West Memphis, Arkansas, died Friday, September 14, 2018 in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Mr. Haywood was born January 5, 1946 in Piggott Arkansas, to the late Leslie and Dorothy Davis Haywood. He was a retired meat manager, having worked for Kroger for over 25 years. He was very active in the Jaycees Civic Organization, and was president of the West Memphis Jaycees in 1972. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in West Memphis, Arkansas, and was an avid fisherman and duck hunter.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Haywood Smith and her husband Barry, of San Antonio, Texas; son Brent Haywood and his wife, Laura, of Cabot, Arkansas; grandchildren, Caitlin Smith, Jackson Haywood, and John Luke Haywood. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy Nix Haywood, and sister, Mona Haywood McCord.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Spring Creek Nursing Home, in Cabot, Arkansas, for their loving care of Mr. Haywood over the past two years.

The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".
