Wanda Jean Hammons-Briggs, age 86 of Goodyear, Arizona left this life on Saturday, August 25th, 2018 at her home. She was born in Leslie, Arkansas on April 8th, 1932 to Joseph Homer Hammons and Lorene Branum Hammons.
Wanda worked as a cosmetologist for many years. She enjoyed telling stories about her younger life. She encouraged those around her to never stop learning. Wanda was a feisty, spirited woman who knew what she wanted and enjoyed those things throughout her life. Wanda was married to her first husband and the father of her children, Robert Ray for 28 years. She then was married to her second husband, Bob Briggs for 28 years.
Wanda leaves behind two sons, Glen Ray of Goodyear, Arizona and Darrell Ray of Bullhead City, Arizona; two grandchildren, Mark Ray of Kearney, Missouri and Cynthia Ray of Goodyear, Arizona; two great-grandchildren, Tabitha D'Anne and Jasmine Ramirez, both of Goodyear, Arizona. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and two grandchildren, James and Jamie Ray.
Graveside services for Wanda will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 8th, 2018 at Elberta Cemetery near Leslie, Arkansas with Bro. Cairl Baysinger officiating. Local Arkansas arrangements are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas.
