December 13, 1926 - August 19, 2018

Racine Treadwell Ragland, age 91 of Morning Star, Arkansas went to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 19th, 2018. She was born in Searcy County, Arkansas on December 13th, 1926 to Hugh Treadwell and Julia Ann McCarson Treadwell. Racine was raised during those hard depression years. Her father, Hugh Treadwell died when she was 6 years old, leaving behind his wife Julia Ann and nine children to raise on her own. Racine was the 7th, of nine children. She always gave tribute to her parents, brothers and sisters for a job well done during those hard depression years.

Racine was a charter member of the Morning Star Baptist Church. She loved working with the children in Sunday and Bible School. The center of Racine's life was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her greatest desire was that all her children and grandchildren know the Lord as their personal Savior.

Racine was a homemaker, farmer and caregiver. She took care of over 100 patients in her lifetime. Racine had a God given gift of growing things. Whether planting crops on the farm or growing flowers and dogwood trees in her yard. Her yard was always a showcase of flowers and trees. Everyone still admires her yard as they drive by her home in Morning Star.

Survivors include her children, Judy Sutterfield of Marshall, Bill Ragland and wife Holly of Morning Star, Hughy Ragland and wife Kandy of Morning Star and Randy Treadwell and wife Rita of Marshall; five grandchildren, Chris Sutterfield, Ricky Ragland, Phylicia Daniel, Jeff Treadwell and Cory Treadwell; and eight great-grandchildren with one on the way, Gideon and Titus Sutterfield, Jesse and Isaac Glynn Ragland, Ashlynn Daniel, Olivia and Leah Treadwell, Grayson and Gage Treadwell.

Racine was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Julia Treadwell; Racine was the last remaining child of nine siblings, Verna Moore, Buel Holliman, Enid Hotman, Chester Treadwell, Garland Treadwell, Opal Treat, Loey Treadwell and Hugh Treadwell Jr.; and one son-in-law, Donnie Sutterfield.

Graveside services for Racine will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 21st, 2018 at Red Hill Cemetery near Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Marcus Treadwell officiating. Special music will be performed by Sue Tilley and friends. Visitation will be 12:30 till 1:30 PM at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Chris Sutterfield, Ricky Ragland, Jeff Treadwell, Cory Treadwell, Donnie Holliman and Paul Treadwill.

To her children, grandchildren and her brothers and sisters in Christ; May the Lord bless and keep you, May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and give you peace, Numbers 6:24-25. She loved you all!!

Judy , Billy Dean and Hughey Darrel , I send you my heart felt sympathy in the death of your mother. You were a big part of my life growing up in Morning Star. I remember coming over to play and how I always enjoyed it. I also remember your mom Racine and how she was such a hard worker. Any time I met up with her she would always talk to me about God and Jesus Christ. Love you all, your cousin Rick and Marinda Holliman and family
