Robert Dwight McGinty, 89, of McRae, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018.

He was born February 10, 1929, in Greenbrier, Arkansas to the late Earnest Matthew McGinty and Opal Mae Bradford McGinty. Robert grew up in Greenbrier and later in McRae. He attended Beebe High School and Beebe Nazarene Church where he accepted Christ and met the love of his life, Reva Nell Christy. They were married December 30, 1947, and enjoyed a marriage of 64 years, until her passing in 2011.

Robert attended Bethany Nazarene College in Oklahoma and eventually moved to Pasadena, California, where he served as a home missions pastor in Los Angeles. In 1957 the family relocated to Pecos, Texas, where he pastored another home mission church. After an illness he had suffered there, they moved back to California to recover and redirect his profession. Robert worked for the defense contractors for a short while, but eventually went to work for Los Angeles County as an Industrial Waste Inspector from 1961-1976. In 1979 Reva and Robert returned to Arkansas for their retirement years. But, the ministry was reborn in his heart, and he accepted the call to pastor Clinton Nazarene Church in Clinton, Arkansas. After serving the church there, as well as coordinating the rebuilding of a new sanctuary, they moved to McRae where they remained and enjoyed attending Beebe Nazarene Church where their life together began.

Robert had three children, Mary Nell Smee, Earl Matthew McGinty, Roberta Mae Briscoe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Reva Nell, his daughter, Mary, son-in-law, Gary, as well as his brothers, Ronald McGinty, Daniel McGinty, and his sister, Sue Black.

Robert is survived by one son, Earl McGinty (Sandie), Roberta Lindenmayer-Briscoe (Tom), Son-in-law, Gary Smee, two sisters, Betty Goode, Milla Munoz, and two brothers, Bill McGinty and Gerald McGinty. Six grandchildren, Garrett Smee, Janel McQueen, Mitchell Smee, Bradford Lindenmayer, Bryan Lindenmayer , and Heather Dunlap. 12 great-grandchildren; Lillian, Ellie, Carter, Braden, Emma, Colton, Madden, Maxxen, Landon, Aubrey, Kaylee, and Harley. Our family dearly loved Bob and Reva. They used to visit our parents often and was with me when our Mom passed away. Bob was a blessing to all who knew him, we will truly miss his presence. It would take me all day to list all the wonderful things he did for family, how much he was loved and cherished. He was our family ancestry seeker, he shared our heritage proudly with any of us who was interested. Prayers for his family.

My cousin Bob was dear to me,even though we didn't know each other until we were adults. My husband and I were
always made welcome in his and Reva's lovely home. Bob was also a friend to us. Now, he
is with his wonderful Savior and his beloved Reva! Praise the Lord!

I love my Uncle Bob. He was my Uncle Boy. I am very proud to have had such a great man in my family. Because he was a closer uncle, because he and my Dad married twin sisters, I called him Uncle Boy, and I called his wife, Reva, Auntie Gal. I will miss him and never forget him, as he was a special man of God.
