To the Pruniski's

I worked closely with Jack and Joe Steinberg to develop a 100% Ugandan coffee brand which sold in Sam's Club in 2010. We also worked together to achieve a partnership between Coffee Legends, UCDA and Heifer International. Jack was a people's lawyer who came to Uganda. He was an empathetic, deeply professional man. I share with him the Catholic faith and got to meet Mary Jane on our numerous trips to Arkansas including a visit to the then Governor Mike Beebe. I pray that his soul has arrived at a better place. Good bye Jack !

Mary Jane - My most heartfelt condolences. In no small way Jack's sudden passing was a blow to me as I know it certainly was to you. Jack was one of if not my best friend since he was among the first acquaintances I made when I moved to North Little Rock in 1963. Since that time we have shared so many experiences including when he met the love of his life - YOU! For more than two decades we have shared our mutual love for photography (Jack was clearly more accomplished) and many hours ruminating over our RACK escapades.. Every snap of the shutter since his death I think of him and how he would have composed the shot. Jack is a friend I will never forget. Please call on me for support in anyway. Butch

Mary Jane, Brian , Jeff , elizabeth and Family: I had the honor of attending Catholic High games with Jack for many years. I first really got to know him during Catholic High basketball games which he continued to attend even after his sons graduated in 1994 and 2000. Those were great basketball teams ! Jack would take beautiful photographs of the teams . We would visit during the games when he wasn't taking pictures. We had a grand time talking about past seasons and the officiating ! We will greatly miss him at the games !! Jack was also a faithful member of our St. Thomas More Society of Catholic lawyers. He was a true example of a person following the life of St. Thomas More - he was devoted to his faith, his family and his country. He was a Renaissance Man . Jack and Mary Jane raised a great family. May Jack rest in the Peace of Christ ! Reg Rogers Catholic High Class of 1977, St. Thomas More Society of Arkansas Past President

Dear Mary Jane and family,
When I was at the HIlburn firm in the late 80's I thoroughly enjoyed my partnership with Jack. We worked different kinds of cases, but it was a treat to stop by his office each day to chat. Such a pleasant man!
I was pleased to hear about his adventures in mountain climbing and travel. I have had similar adventures, particularly as a sailor and I would like to have compared notes with him.
The service at Christ the King was moving, and while it closes the chapter of Jack's life on earth he is now at rest in a better place.
Lana and I pray that you all will know peace and joy in the years ahead.

Dear Pruniski Family,

My father, Gary Liles, first met Jack in Memphis in 1968, when they played against each other in a tennis match between Memphis State University and Christian Brothers College. From that tennis match came a friendship that lasted 50 years and came to include both of our families.

When I was in the heat of junior tennis and needed to play practice matches, Jack was always up to play with me. I remember several matches at the indoor center of the Athletic Club, where Jack cracked good natured jokes with my dad about how he was in the unfair position of having to either beat or lose to a 14 year old girl. I even remember one time that Jack coaxed my dad out of retirement to play a doubles match against my sister Jenny and me. I won’t say who won the tennis match, but there is no doubt my dad and Jack won the prize for trash talk! Jack is a living testament to how tennis can be a lifetime sport, and his love of the game was an inspiration to me as a young player. I hope that when I am 70, I will still be playing 3 times a week!

My family and I always looked forward to running into the Pruniskis on Sundays after church. It soon became clear that a tennis player could have many other interests-- I remember hearing about Jack’s photography and mountain climbing adventures all over the world.

From being a great tennis player to a world traveler to a loyal friend and successful lawyer, Jack has been a great friend to my family and a great role model for me. His humour and kindness will be greatly missed by my parents, my sister, and me, and the Pruniski family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Love,

The Liles Family

Dear Family of "JACK" --

One of our nation's Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin, said: " GOD WORKS WONDERS NOW AND THEN - BEHOLD A LAWYER WHO IS AN HONEST MAN,." ( Jack Pruniski would smile at this verbal laurel being bestowed on him.) He hailed from a home of faithful Christians; His Father - an Arkansas and NLR legend - lived the life of a 'hero,' while his Mother was an exceptional woman as well. Jack proved to be 'their equals' through a variety of honed skills and blessings - a fine legal mind; an outstanding artist with a camera; a collector of loyal friendships; plus, a reputation as an excellent 'family man.'
We join the host of mourners who extend condolences to Mary Jane plus all the Pruniski clan along with all who cared about this quality gentleman. May The Great Master grant you' Peace In Your Hearts' knowing Jack's soul is in Heaven.

My Father, Ed Pruss carried the chains for Catholic High for over 60 years. I was on the field with my Father before the game and John came up to say hello to Daddy and I told him it was Daddy's last game. John was kind enough to take a photo of just the two of us. It was a wonderful picture of the two us. My Father passed away in January and I have this wonderful picture of him doing the thing that he loved doing for his alma mater. I am sure that I am not the only one that has pictures of their time at Catholic High. I am very grateful to have this beautiful picture to have of me and my Dad. He must have loved Catholic High as much as Daddy did.
I am sorry for your loss and pray for your family for strength and faith from this day forward.

Mary Jane, I never read the ObituariesI but Odid this morning for some reason. I can't tell you how my heart hurts for you. I will be praying for you and the whole family. If there is anything I can do please don't hesitate to ask. Jack was a wonderful person and he helped me when I needed someone to guide me both through Tantrific Sun as an attorney and then when I moved to Little Rock. He gave me good advice and never charged me which I so appreciated.
He lived what he believed. My heart goes out to you. Susan

What an amazing man and friend. He was one of my favorite people. I will always be thankful to have worked for him, but even more thankful for our friendship after I left. I will cherish our many lunches at Ciaos eating salmon and admiring all of his new pictures from his amazing photography. He was always excited to share photos from his travels and local ones as well. Our last lunch was about a month ago and the photos were some of my favorites. You had a great life. I will never forget you, my kind, generous, adventurous, loving, friend, Jack. Mary Jane and the rest of his family are in my thoughts and prayers. Much love - Melissa Perez
