Verna Mae McDaniel, age 90 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Sunday, July 1st, 2018 at Perry County Nursing Center in Perryville, Arkansas. She was born in Searcy County, Arkansas on October 13th, 1927 to Jack and Maybelle Harrell Smith.
Verna was a wonderful homemaker and mother to her children. She was an excellent cook. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and liked to can the fruits of her labors. She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers. Verna also enjoyed sewing and quilting. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Survivors include three children, Gary McDaniel and wife Debbie of Marshall, Larry McDaniel and wife Vonda of Russellville and Phyllis Horton and husband James of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Derek McDaniel (Megan) of Harrison, Stephana Hubbard (Randy) of Marshall, Jason McDaniel of Selma, NC, Janae McDaniel of Marshall, Michael Blackwell (Nicole) of Marshall and Cody Baysinger (Ashley) of Marshall; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Turano and husband Don of Yuba City, CA and Demoia Knowles of Oklahoma City, OK; three brothers, Jackie Smith and wife Omadell of Berryville, Pete Smith and wife Ella of Marshall and Woody Smith and wife Elaine, also of Marshall; and other family and friends will also mourn her passing.
Verna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas F. McDaniel who passed away in 2007; one daughter, Pamela McDaniel; brothers, T.M. Smith, Buck Smith, Don Smith and Douglas Smith; and sisters, Hazel Blair, Modean Nimmick and Geraldean Ragland.
Arrangements are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas. Graveside services for Verna will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 at Marshall Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jackie Smithson officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 till 10:00 AM preceding the service. Burial will follow. Pallbearers will be Jason McDaniel, Derek McDaniel, Randy Hubbard, James Horton, Billy Blair and David Smith.

So very sorry for your loss. What a sweet and sassy lady. I loved to visit with her and hear all the stories she had to tell. She kept me in stitches. I will treasure those memories.
