of Marion, AR
February 16, 1936 - June 20, 2018
Signe Bergwall Rushing, 82, of Clinton, Arkansas, formerly of West Memphis, Arkansas died on June 20, 2018.
She was born to the late Ture Evert Bergwall and Gertrude Bergwall Bolin in Rome, Georgia and was adopted at age 3 by Lester and Viola Sells after the death of her father. They moved to West Memphis, Arkansas where she met and married the love of her life, Otis Rushing. She was a homemaker until her children were older, then she pursued her career in accounting where she obtained her degree and became a credit manager at Mid-Continent Incorporated. She was the best mother in the whole wide world who loved her family and the good Lord above. She played with her children and grandchildren, sang to them, loved to sew and her cooking was amazing. To sit around the table and listen to stories and laugh gave us all memories we will cherish for a lifetime. Our parents' honorable legacy and devotion to each other and their Christian faith is our family foundation.
Signe is preceded in death by her husband, Otis Rushing (Retired Firefighter); parents, Ture Evert Bergwall and Gertrude Bergwall Bolin; adoptive parents, Lester and Viola Sells; brother, John Bergwall; son-in-law, Tony Weaver.
She is survived by one son, Otis Rushing (Linda); two daughters, Susan Weaver of Clinton, Arkansas and Sheree Chrestman (Danny) of Marion, Arkansas; one brother, Lester Sells Jr. (Jo); nine grandchildren, Jeremy Weaver, Whitney Longshore, Michael Rushing, Lindsey White, Tracie Carter, Kalleigh Meyers, Casey Hubbard, Amy Williams and Daniel Chrestman; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Mamaw Sig will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
Visitation will take place on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 201 North Pine Street, West Memphis, Arkansas 72301. Funeral Services will begin in the Chapel of Roller-Citizens at 1:30 P.M. with interment following at Forrest Park Cemetery, Forrest City, Arkansas.
In memory of Signe Rushing, the family is requesting that contributions be made to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, 1148 E Matthews Ave, Jonesboro, AR 72401.
So sorry for your loss may you find peace and comfort in the words spoken at 2 Corinthians 1:3 & 4" Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God

I don't think I ever met Signe; but, we were cousins, by marriage. I want to express my sincere sympathy to all of her family and friends.
Fond memories of Mr & Mrs Rushing.
Praying for all her family, His peace and comfort as you grieve.
I'm so sadden by the news of Signe's passing. I worked with her many years ago at Mid Continent. Signe was one of the sweetest people I've had the privilege to have know. I pray peace and comfort for all her family during the difficult days ahead.
A VERY DEAR FRIEND
