Phillip Michael Kerry

of Mandeville, LA

February 10, 1969 - June 10, 2018

Phillip Michael Kerry (49) of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Michael was born February 10, 1969, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Phillip Maxville Kerry and Delta Marguerite Kerry. Michael attended Temple Christian School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and obtained his bachelor's degree in Engineering from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas.
Michael will always be remembered for his giving spirit, big heart, and readiness to help anyone he could. He was a handy-man who turned a bolt on everyone's heart he met. Michael loved spending time outdoors with his sons, often camping, hunting and fishing. The highlight of his life was taking his boys fishing for redfish in Grand Isle, Louisiana, for crappie in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and deer hunting in Hermitage, Arkansas. He had a special talent for cooking delicious homemade dishes and meals, tapping into his Louisiana roots for inspiration. Despite moving to Arkansas for a brief time, he remained a loyal LSU fan and loved Tiger football. He is preceded in death by his mother, Delta; grandmother, Idell Howell and grandfather Edward Kerry.
Michael is survived by his father, Phillip Kerry (78); his wonderful sons, whom he loved fiercely, McKenzie Cole Kerry (24), Nicholas Chase Kerry (20), Noah Chandler Kerry (20), and David Jacob Hogue (24); his sister, Michelle Rousseau (Jeffery), and nephews Jackson and Max Rousseau. Michael was well loved for the wonderful father, son, brother, and friend that he was. He will be vastly missed and remembered always. A visitation service will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home at 10900 I-30 Little Rock, Arkansas. All friends and family are welcome to attend.

Mike! I’m going to miss you. The truth is, our little corner of the neighborhood isn’t the same without you being ever-present in the garage. I mean, whose house do I have to run to when I lock myself out without phone or keys in only my underwear again? ...it’s happened once, I’m sure it won’t be the last...you came through for me then and I’ll never forget it. In fact, it’s one of my go-to stories that you’ll always be a part of. It’s comforting to me that I get to remember you as the guy that pulled me out of a serious jam...Now, I tell that story right after your favorite, My Navy sea storiy about shore patrol in Greece.
You were a puzzle. You were bright and curious. You bragged exhuberantly about your children, You gave freely and expected nothing. The world is worse off without you, The bright light at the end of this tragedy (if there is any) is that there are many people that you have met, been friends with, loved or been related to that are better for having known you. I have to stop writing as I’m tearing up thinking about this, and it’s getting difficult to see what I’m writing....I’ll miss you my friend.

So sorry for your loss may you find peace and comfort in the words spoken at 2 Corinthians 1:3 & 4" Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God
