John Dean Cline

of Clarksville, AR

October 10, 1940 - May 29, 2018

John Dean Cline was born on October 10, 1940, in Hartman, Arkansas, to Asaiel Cline and Ruby Ingram Cline. He died on May 29, 2018, in Clarksville, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, John C. Cline, and four cherished canine companions, Indica, Siegfried, Little Guy, and Buster. He is survived by his former wife, mother of his children, and lifelong friend, Wilma Jean Jacobs Iddings, two children, Randy Cline and his partner, Rene' Winn of Washington, and Deborah Bradley and her husband, Len Bradley, of Clarksville, four grandchildren, Courtney Cline, Joshua Cline, Sarah Cline, and John Jesse Cline, two brothers, Carl Cline of California and Rube Cline and his wife, Lorraine, of Missouri, along with several nieces and nephews.
John retired from Allstate Insurance in 1995 and became an avid traveler and lover of Native American art and culture. John ultimately settled in his paradise, Flagstaff, Arizona, where he enjoyed hiking and biking, staying active despite of suffering from severe rheumatoid arthritis for most of his life. While drinking morning coffee on his deck, he admired the views of Mt. Eldon and Fat Man's Loop. Due to unexpected health issues, John returned to Clarksville on January 11, 2018, for continued therapy and treatment until his death.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to an animal shelter, to any charity providing care and support to disadvantaged children, or charity of like nature, as John always had a soft spot and gave generously when it came to caring for animals and children in need.
There are no services scheduled at this time, cremation arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville. Online guestbook at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/clarksville

I knew John back in the mid 70's and 80's when he lived in both Redondo Beach and Newport Beach California. We were part of a group of friends who spent time in Palos Verdes. I kept in touch but haven't talked him for several years when he was living in Flagstaff. I'm sorry to hear about his passing. I always remembered him as being such a nice guy.

I first met John at Hartman and we were friends. I recently found him and Wilma Jean after all these years. I wish we could have had more time to talk and remember old friends. I will always remember him and his family. So long as we live, he will also live.

I am going to really miss my wonderful Flagstaff neighbor. He was a great guy and I so enjoyed our many conversations and especially the last hike at Buffalo Park. Rest in Peace - I know you and Buster are together again.
