J.O. Wheeler, Jr. age 83, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his home. Mr. Wheeler was born September 18, 1934 in Doddsville, Mississippi to the late J.O., Sr. and Lula Wheeler.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Stokes (Frank) of Rogers; two grandchildren, Amy Varela (Alexander) and Curtis Heidelberger; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Reagan Varela; brother, Robert ''Buddy'' Wheeler (Pat) of West Helena; a special niece, Sherry Fraze; and a host of cousins and friends.

Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 57 years, Joel Margaret Wheeler; his son, Wade Wheeler; and his fishing buddy, Jack Lewis.

A funeral service for J.O. Wheeler will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Brother Kirk Owens will officiate.

Pallbearers are Terry Nichols, Mike Reyna, Mickey Lederman, Arnie Fraze, Billy Jumper and Jerry McGrew.

Memorials may be made to Elite Home Health.

Karen...I am truly sorry for your loss...know that I am praying for you and your family...I have always thought the world of your mom and dad...They are wonderful people.. Karen I am so sorry for you and your family at this sad time. Bud and I enjoyed so much spending time with sissy & jo and you kids. U and wade were just kids then. Love you and your family. We know sissy and J.O. are reunited, nothing would make either happier.

So sorry. I've known the Wheeler family my whole life. Memories of Mrs. Wheeler visiting my mom Dorothea McClure are some if my favorites. Sissie was special too. Buddy & family know my thoughts are with you in the loss of your brother. May God bless you all.
