Helen B. Perkins, age 83, of Elaine, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Perkins was born July 22, 1934 in Pottsville, Arkansas to the late A.W. and Minnie Workman. She was a member of Elaine Baptist Church and a dedicated housewife and mother.
Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joe; three daughters, Becky Ward (Mike) of Lambrook, Vicky Crisp (Curtis) of Elaine and Linda Jo Short (Chester) of Greenville, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Casey Benefield, Eric Benefield, Jason Short and Jessica Short-Hammons; five great-grandchildren, Alexis Henry, Paislee Short, Owen Short, Auby Short and Grant Hammons; one sister, Bernell Baugher (Jimmy) of Lost Cane; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Brent Ward; brother, Gene Workman; and three sisters, Agnes Canamore, Laura Bewley and Geraldine Standridge.
A funeral service for Helen Perkins will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2018 at Elaine Baptist Church with visitation prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Brother Luke Watson will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Elaine Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
