Joyce Mitchell, 85, of Searcy, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Jonesboro, August 28, 1932 to Wid Phillip Gibson and Martha Belle Gibson Duncan.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of College Church of Christ. She enjoyed travel, reading, baking, Cardinal baseball and had an extensive cookbook collection.

Preceding her in death are her husband of 61 years, Calvin Mitchell; parents, and stepfather, John Duncan; brother, Dub Gibson; sisters, Julia Mae Stevenson, Billie Griffin, Alma Harris, Lois Gibson; eight stepbrothers and two stepsisters; a grandchild, Jill Nicole Vignery.

Survivors include her daughters, Vicki Mitchell, Nanette (Andy) Lynn, Julie (Chris) Wolfe; grandchildren, Todd (Kelly) Mitchell, Traci Smith, Mary Margaret (Seth) Fish, Emily (Daniel) Wickliff, Madison Wolfe, Jake Wolfe, Luke Wolfe; great grandchildren, Zoe Smith, Easton Mitchell, Maxon Fish, Miles Fish; brothers, Burke Gibson, Jim Duncan; sisters, Bobbie Armstrong, Jane Lincoln, Linda Ellis, Pearl Norquay.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 2, at 2:00 pm, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro with family serving as pallbearers. Visitation will precede the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
