David "Dave" Harry Cash

December 31, 1946 - April 19, 2018

David Harry Cash passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 71. David was born in Memphis, TN on December 31, 1946 to Harry & Reba Cash; the second of their three sons. After moving to Little Rock, AR, ''Dave'' grew up in the Westwood neighborhood where he spent his time playing baseball while forming lifelong friendships.

Dave graduated Central High School in 1964 and UALR in 1971 where he was a member of the SAE fraternity. He met Ginger Sue Richardson in 1965 and fell immediately in love. They married in 1966 and went on to have three children that completed his beloved family. Dave enjoyed playing on the Sickie's softball team and being in the outdoors in his home state of Arkansas.

A career change brought Dave to Georgia in 1984 where he became involved in land development and later custom home building in N. Fulton and Forsyth counties. He would always say that his family was his greatest blessing which went on to include three grandchildren who he loved spending time with. Dave enjoyed music, watching college football, debating politics, researching his family genealogy and spending time with all of his family including his brother Steve with whom he shared a special bond.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Brad & Shannon Cash; his daughter and son-in law Alyssa & Mackey Foster; his grandchildren, Tanner, Patterson and Brayden Cash; his brother and sister-in-law Steve & Mary Cash, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Barbie & Luther Reed, Janis Johnson & Gary Sibley, Stephanie & Randy Peek and his sister-in-law Mitzi Ross along with an aunt & uncle, nieces, a nephew, cousins and many others that loved him.

David was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Ginger Cash; his son Chad Cash; his parents, Harry & Reba Cash, his brother Gaylon Cash and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Bob Richardson and Margaret Richardson Winters.

Visitation will be Monday, April 23, 2018 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72211. The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 24, 2018 Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.

To Dave’s Family, I was very sad to hear of Dave’s passing and your loss. I never met or talked to Dave, but for several years we communicated by email as we shared research of our early Cash lines in this country. Especially the Cash brothers, John and Peter, who served in the Virginia Militia during the Revolutionary War. I descend from John Cash and Dave from Peter Cash. Dave became a good friend and I’m very glad that we had the opportunity to share our heritage.

I feel so fortunate to have had the chance to know and love David Cash. When I think of Dave, I always think how much my husband, Steve Cash, adored Dave and how much Dave adored him in return. Theirs was a special bond, one that transcended the years and all the events of their lives. It breaks my heart that illness prevents me from being with Steve and the family at this time. But I trust that everyone knows that my heart and soul are with them forever.
