of Conway, AR
June 8, 1949 - December 21, 2017
Danny Lee Earls, 68, of Conway went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Danny was born June 8, 1949, in Steele, Missouri to Mary Virginia Stone Earls and George Lee Earls, who preceded him in death.
Danny is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 43 years, Karen Clements Earls. He lovingly, faithfully, and selflessly took care of Karen during his time on Earth. He is also survived by his cherished daughters Amy Danielle Earls Thompson (Daniel) and Melissa Dawn Earls, both of Conway; his beloved grandson Matthew Daniel Thompson, of Conway; his siblings Carol Faye Earls Mills of Little Rock, Marilyn Earls Mason (Eddie) of Redfield, and George Lee Earls, Jr. (Becky) of Sheridan. He is also survived by his children Danny Lee Earls Jr. and Crystal Earls Bailey, both of Texas as well as their children.
Danny graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1968 where he was a member of the high school golf team. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. While his girls were in school, Danny was extremely devoted attending any and all school events. For years, Danny served the Conway Middle, Conway Jr. High, and Conway High School bands as a parent representative for trips including games and competitions. All of the band students loved Danny, and he was affectionately called ''Dad'' by many.
Danny spent the majority of his career at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock as the Landscape Supervisor. He received countless accolades from doctors, staff, and chancellors for his design of the campus grounds and attention to detail. Danny was loved by his employees and was a staunch advocate for those in need. Danny also attended the University of Central Arkansas, inspired by his daughters' love for learning. He retired from UAMS. In his retirement years he enjoyed adult coloring books, making up silly songs and dances, and collecting turtle memorabilia. Everyone that met Danny loved him and would comment that he was just a joy to be around.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 27th at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, December 28th at Bethlehem Cemetery in Wooster with Rev. Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Thompson, Daniel Thompson, George Earls Jr., Allen Threadgill, Luke Pizzolatto, and Pablo Lopez.
Amy & Melissa.....my thoughts and prayers are with you and your mother...prayers for peace and comfort....with sincere sympathy.
I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers.
Thinking of you all during this very difficult time. I'm so sorry for your loss. Praying for comfort and peace.
While I did not know Mr. Earls, I do know both Amy and Melissa. They are joy to work with at UCA--always kinds, always helpful. This tells me that their parents raised them to be this way. When I learned that Mr. Earls was a horticulturalist, it made me smile. In the pictures of him, you can tell that he loved life and had a sense of humor. Thinking of your family during this most difficult time, especially this time of the year.
