Sgt. Major (Ret.) Robert Glenn Burdyshaw, 84 of Jonesboro, passed away, Monday, December 4, 2017 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born December 8, 1932 in Jonesboro to William Rufus and Maudie Ladd Burdyshaw. Robert served for 40 years in the United States Army and the Army National Guard. He was a life long member of Union Grove Methodist Church, a member of the Non-Commissioned Officers Club, and a member of the Beekeepers of Northeast Arkansas, in which he had the longest service.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bill and Wayne; sisters, Margaret and Linda.

Survivors include, his wife of 59 years, Doris (Dacus) Burdyshaw; daughters, Dana (Don) Kennedy and Susan Burdyshaw; grandchildren, Brandon (Elizabeth) Hoke, Candice (Joshua) Kennedy, Valarie Hoke and Robert Hoke, Abra (Kyle) Farmer; great-grandchildren, Timber Rose Hoke and Ellie Farmer; brother, Stanley Burdyshaw; sisters, Jean Carter, Vergie (Eulas) Dorton, Pat Davis, Fredia (Joe) Miller, Goldie (Gary) Haynes, Carol Snell, Joyce (Robert) Bednar and Shirley (Ronnie) Waln.

Funeral service will be Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home Chapel with Byron Griffey officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that you donate to your favorite charity.
