October 19, 1934 - November 22, 2017

Betty Joyce Alexander, 83, departed this life Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Regional One Hospital in Memphis, surrounded by her sons and nephew. She was born October 19, 1934,
to Bernard Russell and Olivia Mae (Posey) Dunman in Walnut Grove, Alabama.

Betty's family moved to Arkansas when she was young and settled down at Cash. She was most proud that she graduated from high school. Betty worked at Frolic Footwear for several years, then retired from General Electric. After retiring from factory life, she went to work for her sister who owned a restaurant in Bay. She enjoyed being around all the customers and working with her sister.

Betty enjoyed her flowers and working in her yard. She also loved canning, making jelly and polish dill pickles. Most of all, she loved giving it away for people to enjoy.

In addition to parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Alexander; three brothers, Charles, Junior, and Bill Dunman; and three sisters, Peggy Dunman, Laura England, and Doris Blalock.

She is survived by two sons, Joe (Teresa) Alexander and David Alexander; one brother, W.D. Dunman; three grandsons, Joe Russell (Ashley) Alexander, Troy Garrett Alexander, and Stephen Thomas Alexander, and one great-grandchild, Gunner Thomas Alexander.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 27, at 10:00am, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, with Roger Brand officiating. Burial will follow at Worley Cemetery at Cash.

Visitation will be Sunday, 5:00-7:00pm, at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dwight England, Donnie England, Larry Blalock, Mike Dunman, Gary Dunman, and Ronald Dunman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Jones, Charles Ellis, Chris Riggs, Terry Ellis, Fern ''Belo'' Ellis, Glenn Hamrick, and Wendell Renfroe.
