of Helena, AR
December 22, 1940 - October 23, 2017
December 22, 1940 Jack Lewis was born on a river in Newport, Arkansas and went on to be with the Lord on October 23, 2017. The river water ran through his veins. Nothing made him happier than being on the river or lake, as long as it was water. When he wasn't on the water, he was in the woods, as he loved hunting.
He had many friends, but had three life-long friends, J.O. Wheeler, Ronald Rose, and Ed Cooper. A real special friend was Jan Hoefler. She was his caregiver, along with his daughter, Angela. They were the ones who kept him off the ''hill.''
He was preceded in death by his Wife Eva (Bales) Lewis, Mother Paula Lewis, Father Happy Lewis, Brothers Robert (Bob) Lewis, Sam Lewis, and Sister Barbara Smith.
He is survived by his Daughter Angela Lewis (Jan Hoefler), Sons Kurt Lewis (Linda Lewis), Christopher Lewis, Richard Lewis, Sister Ida Cox (Paul Cox), Brother Albert Lewis (Kelly Lewis), seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman who was loved by family and friends.
Funeral services for Jack Lewis will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2017 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
Jack Lewis was a great guy! Quite a "hoot"! Good natured, funny and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a wonderful husband to Eva who was my husbands (Henry King) cousin. I would have attended the funeral if I had checked my email in time to know that his funeral was today at 10am. Condolences to the family. God bless you all.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Jack was always good to us. Beverly Nye, Sonia, Robert, and Connie Bailes

I have known Mr. Jack for years. I didn't know much of his family. He was a good fried of mine and my son . He always spoke and asked how the family was doing .
I do know that he and J.O. Were the best of friends. Prayers for the family .
