Charles Brinton Virden, Jr., 96 of Clarksville, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in Clarksville. He was born on August 13, 1921 in Wilmington, Delaware to his parents, Charles Brinton Virden, Sr. and Lena Mae (Sellers) Virden. He was a 1940 graduate of H. Fletcher Brown High School in Wilmington where he played basketball. He proudly served his country during WWII as a TECH 4 in the United States Army stationed in Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines. He worked for Pan American Airways in Miami, Florida and retired after twenty five years to Sebring, Florida where he lived forty years before moving to Clarksville where he attended the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Brinton Virden, Sr. and Lena Mae (Sellers) Virden and his wife of sixty nine years, Charlotte Virden; one brother, James Virden; four sisters, Helen Hearn, Florence Gebensleben, Janie Moxham and Elizabeth Romanelli.

He is survived by one son, Robert Charles Virden and wife Jo Anne; two grand-daughters, Cindy Virden of Bentonville, Arkansas and Elizabeth Hogan and husband Benjamin of Morrilton, Arkansas and one great grand-daughter, Lydia Hogan.

Bob and JoAnne what a pleasure it was to meet "Charlie" at out birthday club dinner at your house last month. He seemed to be happy and glad to meet us all also. I am so sorry he had to leave so soon but thankful you got to spend these last weeks with him.
