I knew Neil in high school and lived two houses up from the Mendez/Christensen house. Neil was a great friend who, for better or worse, taught me poker, table tennis and board games (like Panzer Blitz!) Although, I NEVER beat him at any of them! But I must admit, I could scare him when he rode in my hopped up Plymouth Barracuda ;)
Neil was someone I greatly admired, for even as a teenager, he had a calm maturity beyond his years. ...and smart! He seemed to excel at anything he put his mind to...sports (lettered in tennis), academics...
After high school we went are separate ways, and I regret that we lost track of one another.
I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope you find comfort in knowing that others grieve with you, and that you are all in my prayers.
Respectfully,
Tom Jones

What an honor to have called Neil a true friend for so many years. He was always there for me with good level headed advice. Very wordly in his approach to things (loved NPR!) But the biggest love of all was to Lisette, to Marguerite, to Wills.. boy was he proud of them!! Love you Neil !!
