When I think of this man I always think "do not walk on his lawn" & what a gentle father. Mr. Eugene was always had a smile and a kind word for others. To think about it, the Lewis yard always looked perfect just as he is now. Deepest sympathy to Jerry, Rita, Tina and Phil.
Dear Lewis family. I am not one of the real "oldtimers" at Conway
1st Nazarene. I have been a member here since 1999. That is when I first met Gene. He was in charge of the Pastors Prayer
Partners Ministry. He invited me to join, which I did. What a blessing! We had four groups of men who would take turns praying for our pastoral staff. When it was my turn, I would always get a reminder post card from Gene. Being as both of
us were alumni of SNU, albeit he graduated 16 years ahead of
me, we had fun sharing some of our college memories. He was
a good man, and will be greatly missed .

Gene was such a unique soul. We got to know him especially well when we were traveling to Cabot on Sunday nights for a season with Pastor Tim Kellerman. He always had a story, always had a memory to share. Full of colorful history of the church and of the county. I loved listening to his recounting of his life. He was a friend to the Smiths...we loved him.

I am so sorry for your lost; please know that you are not alone, you can find much comfort in the Holy Scriptures which assures us at Psalms 34:18 that God is near to those broken at heart and saves those crushed in spirit. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
