I can not express how humbling it was to care for him and his family. While lying on his death bed he held my hand and prayed for me. At first I thought I had misunderstood the prayer until his wife informed me that he knew everything he had said and that is the kind of person he is. We are sorry for your loss. You will continue to be in my prayers.

So many wonderful memories of time spent with Uncle Walter and his beautiful family: summer tubing adventures down the Chattahoochee, listening to all types of music (fiddle, guitar, dulcimer) and many a tall tale from his growing up in the Mississippi Delta...so much laughter and love.
Sending wishes for peace, comfort, and healing to All!

This obituary brings forth many emotions for me. First it makes me sad that such a special man is no longer here. Second it makes me happy in know that he is free from pain and suffering.
Mr. Tharp left an handprint on my heart. I will never forget him and his precious wife.
I'm praying for the family.
