Oweda Lana Allen

of Little Rock, AR

October 29, 1922 - May 15, 2017

Oweda Lana Allen, 94, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2017. She was born on October 29, 1922 in Paron, Arkansas. She married Bill Allen in 1938. They were married 51 years until his death in 1989.

Oweda was also predeceased by her parents, Virgil and Trudy Curtis, daughter Patricia Bearden and sister Virgie Presley.

Survivors include daughter Lee Allen Schwager of Conway, Arkansas, son Jim (Cam) Allen of Clinton, Arkansas, grandchildren Ana Schwager, Allen (Anndee) Schwager and Jill Schwager, Jason Allen and one great grandchild Ella Kate Schwager, sister Martha (George) Warner and many nieces and nephews.

She loved her church family at Central Church of Christ in Little Rock and was a very active member until her later years. She taught her children and grandchildren the importance of loving the Lord and was a Christian example in the way she lived her life.

Oweda was a homemaker, raising three children and then retired from Kimberly Clark in 1987. She had many passions including cooking (her homemade rolls and dressing were the best!), her grandchildren and great grandchild, her church family and many friends at Good Shepherd Retirement Center Moore Building.

Oweda was a kind, wonderful person and loved by all. She never met a stranger and became a friend to everyone she met. She had an infectious smile that brightened every room she entered and she loved giving sweet hugs on a daily basis.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10:00am with visitation an hour prior at 9:00am at Roller McNutt in Conway. Burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your mother. May your hearts find comfort from your memories of her. May you also find comfort that God understand your pain and that He promises to wipe the tears from all eyes and remove death from the earth and bring all that have died back to life. Revelation 21:3,4 and John 5:28,29 May your hearts find peace and comfort at this difficult time.

We were blessed to have know and loved Ms. Oweda, she was a wonderful member of the Forerunner's group at Central church of Christ and we could always count on Ms. Oweda to keep us laughing! She will always be a great example to us all on what it means to have "JOY" in our Christian journey. Even as her health began to fail her she would always light up the room at the Good Shepherd Retirement home with a quick wit & a big laugh! Heaven will be a happier place with Ms. Oweda in it! Know that our thoughts & prayers will be with the family during this difficult time.

What a blessing to have known and worked with Ms. Oweda. She was always smiling, happy, and a little on the mischievous side. I think about her often as I drive down hwy 64 passing her previous home. That twinkle in her eyes. What a joy she was. I still have the alarm clock she bought me, when I built my first little house back in 1982 and it still works perfectly. My prayers are with you all, as I know your loss is great. But she has earned her heavenly wings with mischievous twinkle is still her eyes and lovely sweet smile on her face. God bless and comfort you all.
