Jean H. Copeland, 79, of Searcy, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at Unity Health of Searcy. She was born May 5, 1938, at Athens, Tennessee, to Robert E. & Cora (Conrad) Hornbeak.

She was a banker and business woman. She was a member of the Pitts Baptist Church. She had been active in the Mississippi Jaycettes. She enjoyed singing, making friends, and watching bull riding. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Copeland; a grandson, Derek Finnie; a great-granddaughter, Blaire Kagen; and a great-grandson Liam Wolverton.

She is survived by two sons, Greg (Dena) Wolverton of Newark, and Barry (Tammy) Wolverton of Weiner; one daughter, Rhonda (Chris) Finnie of Judsonia; one brother, Robert (Hilda) Hornbeak of Memphis; grandchildren, Chase Kagen, Cody Wolverton, Taner Wolverton, Colton Wolverton, Jack King, Jesse King, Erica Finnie, and Trista Thomas; ten great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Jim Rhea.

There will be a visitation 6:00-8:00pm, Monday, May 15th, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home at Weiner.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, May 16th, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home at Weiner, with burial to follow at Waldenburg Cemetery. David Howard will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chase Kagen, Cody Wolverton, Taner Wolverton, Colton Wolverton, Josh Thomas, Terry Berryhill, Brandon Fuller, and Whit Walls.

I have worked with Ms. Copeland's son Greg Wolverton at ARcare for many years. I have heard such great stories from him about her and I knew he cared very deeply for his mother. I was saddened to hear of her passing last week. My love, prayers and sincere condolences go out to him and the entire family.

We loved Ms. Jean and will miss her so much. We always loved to hear her play the piano and sing. She had such a beautiful voice. Sending prayers to all her family.
