Judith A. Hooker

of Shirley, AR

October 8, 1941 - May 9, 2017

Judith Angela Hooker, 75, of Shirley, Arkansas passed away on May 9, 2017 in Clinton Arkansas.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents, the late Ghislane Flemal and Angeline Piontek Flemal.

Judith ''Judy'' Hooker was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on October 8, 1941. She was a graduate of Green Bay East High School. She married the ''boy next door'', James Hooker, in 1969.

Judy's whole life revolved around helping and caring for others. Before and after having her own two children, she was very involved with the lives of her nieces and nephews. Being a stay-at-home mom was rewarding to Judy as she always put her family first. Judy was devoted to her many aunts as well, caring for them as they aged. She spent countless hours at the nursing home with her mother-in-law and her mother. Judy loved to sew, doing clothing alterations for many people. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and she cherished the time she was able to spend with all of them. Whenever possible, she and her good friend Sheri Vandenbush would take the little ones to the thrift stores and lunch at McDonalds.

Judy is survived by her children, son Joe Hooker (Cara) and daughter Amy Shaw (Tim), two siblings, Ginger Van Boxel and Jack Flemal (Kathy) and nine grandchildren: Brandon Cooper, Justin, Angelina and Dylan Hooker, and Blake, Mason, Nathaniel, Emily and Isabelle Shaw.

The family of Judith Hooker would most especially like to thank the amazing nurses, certified nurse's aides and staff at Ozark Health Nursing and Rehabilitation in Clinton, Arkansas for their compassionate and loving care of Judy during her battle with Alzheimer's disease. Also, thanks to Hope Medical, Hospice Home Care, Ozark Home Health and Dr. Stacy Zimmerman.

There will be a memorial service in Green Bay, Wisconsin in June at St. Mary of the Angels church.
