Lindy V. Bowie, 86, of Sherwood, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Monday, March 6, 2017. He was born in Little Rock, March 8, 1930 to Frank Brown Bowie and Effie Irene Cook Bowie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Lindy, Jr. and a son-in-law: Phil Wylie. He is survived by a son: Michael Bowie of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three daughters: Sara Wylie of Little Rock, Suzanne Wylie (Tom) of Texarkana, Texas and Elizabeth Dillard of Centreville, Virginia; two brothers: Jimmy Bowie of Little Rock and Buddy Bowie (Dana) of England; four sisters: Jane Swonke of Houston, Texas; Janis Campbell of England, Arkansas; Janecia Cleek and Jean Yates both of Sherwood, Arkansas; also, his cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

In high school Lindy earned a football scholarship to L S U and he loved football to the day he died. He was self- employed and owned Mitchell-Bowie School Equipment Company. He was of the Methodist faith.

The family wants to thank Ricky Tillman for his care and friendship throughout Lindy's illness.

Graveside services will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Mulberry Cemetery in England, Arkansas. Bro. Keith Coker will be officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Roller England Funeral Home (501) 842-3939.

Please accept our sympathies during this time of loss for all the Bowie family. We are very sorry for your loss. Mr Bowie was always a part of my college years through Lindy Jr. He will be remembered.
